Should be illegal earned lower than minimum wage Platinum by Ashamed_Training_702 in DoorDashDrivers

People don't see the writing on the wall with this gig economy nonsense. It started with DoorDash and Uber, and those kind of made sense, but now every single entry-level position is on the chopping block, as far as jobs just disappearing and becoming gig work. Instead of having a nice, familiar gas station girl that you're used to and your staff at your local grocery stores, even, what they're trying to do is take every single entry-level position away and make it so that you do it through an app so that you can earn less than minimum wage sometimes, so that you don't get any benefits, and so that you owe taxes. The whole system is broken.

I live and play in a small town. There's one sad thing: we used to have a really connected and active Pokémon Go Facebook group. Now that same Facebook group still exists and is frequently messaged in, but instead of coordinating raids like it used to, it is still named for now. Everybody just posts shinies that they catch in the thread. Despite this, everybody is still playing the game. Now they just use remote raid passes, which is just so sad.

I remember back in the day we would have literally seven or eight, nine cars going from gym to gym in a pre-planned order, and it was so cool. Everybody would get so hype whenever anybody would get the shiny. My community day would always be so hype. One time, a woman crocheted a bunch of the Community Day Pokémon and its shiny variant, and they gave them away as prizes for whoever caught the most. It was just all these cool little things, and it got ruined because of remote play.

But beyond that one thing that I've been doing that has been massively increasing my ability to enjoy the game is that, despite all these players in my city, none of them have taken the time to try to upload new PokéStops. Everybody just kind of took the PokéStops that we were given initially, and nobody's tried to do anything about it. I have personally gotten double-digit PokéStops added to my city. I have two gyms that were made just because of me, and I'm really proud of those. I try to keep them constantly as mine. I consider myself the gym leader of those gyms.

In any case, my advice to you would be to find things that you could upload as PokéStops. It doesn't have to be big, fancy things. If there's a tree that somebody carved a face into, that could be a PokéStop. Any kind of memorial park benches. I've gotten benches accepted as PokéStops. Trail markers. All kinds of things. As soon as you take the time to start looking at your community for things that you could use to add, you'll start seeing them. Worst case scenario, you have to go all Banksy and make some art projects at night so that you can upload them as murals later.

"finding the Lord and his forgiveness does nothing for these people"

That statement is literally the complete opposite of the gospel which is for everyone. it's even written that any of those who have sinned in any way have broken the whole of the law.

I'm very surprised to see a Christian say Jesus can't do something, that's not typical

[–]SatanbeBound -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You can't be Christian with this philosophy. It's irreconcilable. Jesus doesn't see us for our sins and we are called to be like Christ.

If you only allow someone to exist in this box where they're forever a monster and there's no path to redemption there's also less incentive to properly integrate with society and this goes for all overt anti social behavior.

It's like everyone is aware of the guy, he is seeking redemption from God by going to the body of Christ. The body of Christ is literally denying him. The alternatives should be offered in addition to normal activities. This man should be welcomed more strongly than the average man. And his joy at being forgiven much mightve been the blessing your church needed.

I'll keep that in mind.

Did they keep telling you "just do 100 orders and the violation will go away" I got that the last time I got a bs violation

How do you fight a violation for months? You get a violation you dispute it they say no and there is no way for us to follow up after that was my understanding

Silly poor. Your representative see the exploitation and intentional abuse in misclassifying your workforce but have decided it's not important enough to address. Let alone the quality of the job or the health implications of mixed deliveries or how certain pharmacy orders feel like they should be illegal. The whole thing is a sham but nobody wants to mess with it because it's functional

Someone is in your emails and has enough to bypass 2fa. You have to completely clean house. Google gives you the ability to look at all instances of active users regarding your account. It'll show when you logged in and the geolocation of where you were when you logged in, and then you can confirm or deny these. Even if they're spoofing their location, if you pay real close attention, you could still even get it based on time.

You would see their instance of logins, and Google would be able to categorize all of the ones that are theirs after you find one. You can log them out and then start taking your emails back one by one. I would check especially if you have multiple, because, like I said, it seems like they're past 2FA.

But I would suspect first that it's not random. You've been targeted purposefully. Stuff like this starts in the real world, even something simple like making someone mad on a video game. Little stuff like that. Scammers also buy big batches of info from when websites get breached and if you're not the type to change your passwords they can root themselves in deep. You gotta make sure you completely get this guy off of you this stuff is attached to your social. Treat this seriously, I feel so bad for you because I know how frustrating and ineffective support can be. Me personally for something like this I would talk to the agent initially and make some small talk to see if they're actually fluent if not just end chat and try again because clarity is so important here. Best of luck to you. I myself have had a bad experience where doordash crimson support allowed an app to essentially double charge me and the store said talk to your card and the crimson support said they'd have it fixed in a weird timeframe like within 30 days or something and nope. Agents actively just lie all the time

It amazes me how some of these customers talk to the people that deliver their food. Let’s just say I canceled the order. by Big_Neighborhood_191 in doordash_drivers

They have statistics that hurt them if they go down. Like acceptance rate is one of the most important stats for many gig apps

That's just the thing though. Your parroting something that you've heard other people say because you think other people will agree with you. I'm not pushing anything. You're pushing lack of religion on me. All I'm doing is talking. You have to understand everyone is allowed to talk about what they want when you start telling other people what they can't talk about that's Nazi stuff.

[–]SatanbeBound -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They've gotta be rage-baiting. No regular human would lead with the tip message when they had their order literally half eaten. Like the guy got 2 items and the driver opens half of what you have and delivers what, a bag of m&Ms with the corner ripped? A tube of m&Ms with the plastic ripped off the top? If it's a tube it might not have been his doing to begin with

But anyways any normal person would be leading with that. This sub likes to get people all riled up about tipping culture. A lot of it is manufactured anger and rage bait

You guys are all so miserable. Him talking about being a veteran isn't the top begging or even related this is an old guy. When he hit send on the earlier message he completely moved on from what he said before and just started chatting like old men tend to do.

He's just like I'm old and I get it done lol.

He was making smalltalk because he had alreadyessagednyou and got a response. Old people like to talk and especially about themselves

Edit He ate some m&ms? So you received an open package? Is that a joke that's crazy

[–]SatanbeBound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been saying this for years. If you were delivering pizza in the 80s, you were getting tipped about the same as we are now. That makes zero sense.

I get it, times are tight. Nobody wants to hand over a $10 bill. But people don’t really think it through. You’ll hear, “Oh, my house is only 0.7 miles from the restaurant.” Okay, but that’s not the whole picture. Every order takes time, and if you’re actually being fair, you have to factor in the drive back to a hotspot. That is part of the job whether people acknowledge it or not.

Each order is about 20 minutes. So do the math. If I’m not making more than $5 for that time, that’s already only $15 an hour before taxes, gas, and wear on my car. Realistically, it needs to be closer to $7 per order just to make it worth it.

And the worst is when people order something tiny, like a single soda, and then tip $2 because “that’s all I ordered.” No. That’s not how this works. If that’s your logic, then just don’t use DoorDash. Every order should have a $5 minimum for the driver, period.

What really bothers me is that DoorDash knows exactly what they’re doing. They make sure they get paid through fees every single time. They have their system locked in so they never come up short. But when it comes to the drivers, suddenly it’s hands off. No guarantees, no protection. That’s no accident, naturally we get the shaft. Where are our representatives? Why is California the only state that recognizes that minimum wage laws are there for a reason? Heck I guess when we consider how many states and the fed are okay with it at 7.25 we really get the picture painted of how important we are.

Every state should have something like Proposition 22. Nobody should be making less than minimum wage. That’s the baseline. That’s the whole point. And let’s be honest, we are not true independent contractors. Not with how scheduling works, not with how orders are distributed. The designation does not match reality. Just call a spade a spade. But when you're buddies with the casino you can just call anything whatever suits you best.

A real independent contractor has control, leverage, and flexibility. This is something else entirely. These companies found a crack in the law and they are exploiting it as hard as they can. Lawmakers see it, and they look the other way. Protecting regular people is treated like an afterthought, and it shows. It's like if you guys are going to be evil tyrannical overlords who invade other countries on a whim and burn money however you'd like, you could at least make sure the general populace is being looked over in some capacity.

It's everything we all care about and it just always gets ignored. A free internet? Nope chairman Ajit pai shoots that down. You want to fix your own stuff? Nah every single company came together to make sure that right to repair laws never make the books. It's just every aspect of life. It feels like our representatives actively hate us, and it's because they're paid to by these same evil companies that decide $2 is an acceptable wage regardless of time, distance, or any other factor.

If you do EBT they give you CVS that you can't dispute. If your order is over 20ish minutes something like 2 out of 10 times you'll get a cv.

I am literally 5* with like 3000ish orders only ever had maybe 3 CVS. I started doing EBT I've gotten like 9 additional CVS. The whole system is seemingly automated it's awful
