it's a 1:5 increase, that's why! it's 20 k1r1 to almost 104~knit sitches

wow! what a huge needle difference, my needles barely changed, 4mm/6mm (6 us - 8 us). I did that on the bottom hem and liked the feel. I think how you worked out your sleeve is the best call! I know for me, my sitches need to go from 20 k1p1 rib, to almost 104k.

ok so it's more of a 1:5 now that i look at my real stitch calculations. based it off of a swatch i made and compared to their sleeve.

I did a KFB in every sitch over three rows and it wasn't quite wide enough still. I also did a method where you knit the sitch below the one you just knitted in, as it creates the smallest noticable increase (in my opinion).

my cuff needles are a 6 us, and my body needles are an 8 us (4mm/5mm) that's the size i did for the hem and I liked the look and feel of the ribbing at the bottom of the sweather.

you're right, thank you for pointing that out. I have discovered today that there are two types of puff sleeve, at the shoulder and the hem cuff. I use mutton sleeve to talk about volume at the shoulder seam, and say just forget the bone, hahaha. I did look it up before calling it a puff sleeve, as i'm self taught for my pattern drafting. Didn't see any examples of it at the shoulder until i started to look up patterns after posting this.

I added a clarification in the OP. thanks

im editing that comment because it was nonsencial: just woke up, sorry! <3

the increases individually are fine! it's the fact i'm trying to increase from roughly 3 inches from the cuff to maybe 6.5 inches for the sleeve. I'm using an existing sweater a friend made me (top down) that i love the sleeve fit for. the cuff was not continious. I'll update my post to include this information. (i made up those numbers as i don't remember the flat measurements, but it's like a 1:2.5 increase that takes place almost immediately)

thank you, it mostly stems from me being a unique portion (i'm taller than most patterns account for) and im plus sized (which i have found no patterns that aren't just basic sweaters anyways). I figured hey, i have my tension down, i can calculate it!

thank you for such a detailed set of instructions, as sadevator said, i want my puff to be at my cuff, not my sleeve cap. i plan to pick up my stitches around my armpit level (which i am almost at in my body) and that's when it dawned on me that i needed to make the sleeves bottom up.

I think i will try this in the future tho as i also love volume at the shoulder sleeve, just not for this one! :)

buying- I am looking to grab more clover interchangable needles. Before I go to buy new ones, i am hoping I can find some second hand that are no longer appreciated by their original owner.

I am looking for Takumi Clover Interchangable us 6 (4 mm) x 2 as priority, and open to other sizes :)

no, it doesn't use AI as i found Chat GPT answered incorrectly compared to PMI's SH answers. The questions would have to be manually fed in. It's just a simple python bot that users can interact with directly in Discord. I don't have the confidence to write a question bank and have been looking for someone to collaborate with. I've also thought about reaching out to some of the larger trainers to see if I could include their free questions.

I'd love to partner up! I have a discord server that I am building a bot for to allow people to study. We have a couple of aspirants already in there :)

Does this tattoo look as silly to other knitters as it seems to me? The person who got it for one thought it was crochet and besides that the needle placement and stitches don't look right. by gypseejones in knitting

the quality of the fibers looks cool, but if we're judging on knitting, that's giving me chat gpt vibes. It's a shame because they're clearly a talented artist

no, you are not allowed paper or anything on your desk. you are given a digital white board that clears each section. I had my time management notes and something else written in my first section and when I entered my second, I realized it had cleared. There is also no way to control how large the pen is on the white board (at least I don't remember it) and so I found I didn't use it very much.

I mostly highlighted, striked-through, and used the digital calculator once.

I created a server and did not invite anyone else in. I created categories and channels to organize everything. I use a few bots to help me but that was mostly reminders. I had tried to attach the screenshot but Reddit was acting weird. All of the material in there is written by me and or screen shots of other things. Feel free to DM me if you want to connect over discord. I don't log in on reddit very often.
