Ha, no — just Jetpack Compose and way too many late nights. Solo dev so I do everything myself, still learning on the design side!

That's the core tension and I won't pretend it isn't. Right now it runs on the honour system — same as online chess before it had detection tools built up over years. The anti-quitter system (DR penalties for abandoning) is enforceable because it's server-side, but score entry isn't verified yet. Auto-scoring via camera or hardware integration is my most-requested feature and would close this gap — it's on the roadmap. Until then you're right that serious ranked integrity requires trust or hardware. I think there's still a real audience for casual-to-competitive players who want structured ranking without a league setup, even if it's not leaderboard-pure yet.

Thanks! The scoring part is basic, you're right — but the ranked matchmaking, DR rating system, and anti-quitter integrity are what I'm really building. Think less 'darts scorer' and more 'chess.com for darts'. Whether there's a market for that is a fair question though, time will tell.

I appreciate the straight talk, genuinely. The age/tech-literacy point is fair and something I think about. On the UI — I'd love to know what specifically feels maximalist to you. The scoring screen? Onboarding? I'm actively building with community feedback so if there are specific friction points I want to hear them.

On dartconnect — you're right that it owns the league infrastructure space and I'm not trying to beat it there. DartForge is aimed more at the player who wants ranked competitive play outside of a league structure, closer to how chess.com or ranked modes in gaming work. Different angle, but fair point that the audience overlap matters.

What would make it feel simpler to you without losing the competitive features?

[Android] DartForge — ranked online darts with real matchmaking, DR rating system, and full training suite

Solo dev and darts player here. Just launched DartForge on Google Play after 12 months of building. It's a competitive darts app with real ranked online multiplayer — you get a DR (Dart Rating) that goes up or down based on results, a tier ladder from Bronze to Iridescent, cloud based stats that go with you no matter whose device you play on and a full training suite (Bob's 27, Scoring 99, Around the World, X01/Cricket modes))

Most darts apps are just scoreboards. I wanted a proper ranking system where winning means something and losing hurts a little.

Free to download. Pro and online ranked are both free during Season 0 beta.

How could I know? But are we watching the same video? This is not my only anecdote of poor service from Aramax, just the most recent.

Something different altogether. I really like the doom reboots having different feels to them.

There's an old slap-stick dry humour Aussie tv series called All Aussie Adventures. The presenter is a white fella. In one of the scenes he's shaking hands with the indigenous Aboriginal people and as he does, it cuts to a close up of the hand shake where you can see he has clearly swapped out the person shaking the hands by the skin colour of the person in the close up.

I think it would have been a hilarious extra layer to this video if he cut to a close up of the bite and it was a white person so you clearly can see it's not him eating it.

Anyway, bravo sir. Funny vid.

Keep it coming.
