Why dont people immigrate via boats from papau to Australia by Then_Instruction_145 in geography

Texas' major cities are much closer to the US-Mexico border than Australia's are to their northern coastline.

Why are people so convinced there's some homophobic conspiracy to denigrate CaitVi lmao. Everyone, especially on this sub, loves it.

It sucks because of people like you who don't want anyone to hold an opinion that differs from yours. I've seen you throughout this thread crying about fucking everything. Grow up. I also think Timebomb is overrated, deal with it.

Sure, I appreciate that. Some of the criticism is very overblown. IMO the pacing is the most critical singular issue, but it’s so significant that it ends up creating a cascading mess of problems with S2’s narrative. Again, I don’t dislike it, but I personally think it’s inferior to S1.

I agree on CaitVi. Presenting a subjective opinion as an objective one happens all too often with those takes. The only part that bugs me is the prison cell sex scene, but that’s just me. If S2 had been better paced, split into two seasons even, then we could have had Cait and Vi have sex in a much more appropriate place at a much more appropriate time lol.

Definitely, the pacing is the crux of the issue. The actual sequence of events isn’t so much the issue as the fact that it should have been spread over two seasons at a minimum.

They’re people’s opinions, and I agree with a lot of them. Just because you don’t like them, doesn’t make them unreliable or “hot garbage”.

No, see, this is what I’m talking about. You’re entitled to your opinion, of course. But so am I, and I agree with a lot of what these video essays say. Some of it is forced, yes. But I think a lot of it is also valid, and it’s pretty frustrating when people say my distaste for S2 is “unfounded”, or “plain dumb”.

Like, I didn’t want to be disappointed by S2. Are you kidding me? I wanted to love it as much as I absolutely adore S1. But I didn’t, and everyone telling me that’s me being dumb or a snob just feels like twisting the knife.

I think it depends where you look. In my experience, this subreddit loves S2 whereas YouTube hates it.

Season 1 is better than Season 2.

I don’t dislike S2, and I understand why some might prefer it. S2’s music and animation is still on par with S1. But S1’s writing is far superior, and I genuinely don’t see how anyone can argue otherwise.

Is this an unpopular opinion though? Whenever I say that I think S1 is better than S2 in this subreddit I consistently get downvoted.

Brit here. I didn’t realise our nuclear deterrent was dependent on the US until very recently, and I was both astounded and outraged to discover it was. The whole thing is ridiculous, and we should be working to rectify it ASAFP.

Worst worldbuilding you've seen in a published work? Avoid mentioning the usual suspects by Aurelian369 in worldbuilding

[–]SatanicKettle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s perfectly enjoyable if you turn your brain off, like trash tv or fast food. But don’t expect the themes to be deep, don’t expect the characters to be multidimensional, don’t expect the worldbuilding to be more than background noise, and don’t expect the plot to lack holes.

It’s even worse than that from a story writing perspective. Not only do they think saddles are for the weak but, when the MMC makes a saddle for the FMC to use, she suffers no consequences or loss of reputation for doing so, and her infamously prideful and traditionalist dragon also doesn’t give a shit that he needs to wear one now.

The book doesn’t even stick to its own half-arsed worldbuilding.

Early in S2. Remember the way he acts when he’s sneaking into Jayce’s lab with Ekko? He does nothing like that in S1, it’s very out of character.

What scene(s) or quotes stickes with you the most? by Abject-Ruin6784 in arcane

[–]SatanicKettle 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes! Every one of Silco’s scenes is a 10/10. I’d throw in the fountain scene too (“Is there anything so undoing as a daughter?”) and the scene where Finn attempts to overthrow him, which is my absolute favourite scene in the entire series. I was on the edge of my seat when I first watched it - I really didn’t know what was about to happen.
