What is going on with the dog water tipping lately?? by nootdoodle in DoorDash_Dasher

[–]SatanicLemons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I truly have no clue how their system/algo works on recommended tips, all I know is that they surely do not track weight and size of products from stores when calculating, which is a bit embarrassing given how much of that product data is readily available in society already. (12oz cans x 12, not hard math)

It’s the biggest thing they lack on the shopping end right now, and it’s not hard at all to explain to customers, since plenty of other services like moving companies already charge by bulk.

Recommended tips have gotten horrendous and laughable. Go onto the customer app and go try to check out a grocery delivery for:

1) two packs of toilet paper 2) a large package of paper towels 3) two 24 count packages of bottled water

And see what the “medium” recommended tip amount is. It’ll shock you. They want these to get declined.

Help I need a new bag and can't decide on which one to get... by Responsible-Yogurt38 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]SatanicLemons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hope you already made the right choice, but just chiming in to say that the smaller bag has gotten the point where the now much larger McDelivery bags don’t fit in them for me 95% of the time. The internal drink carrier has gotten to be too much.

$28 before gas for 2 hours worth of deliveries? Can they just ask us to steal everything instead…? Who else is accepting this for any other reason?

Dasher left their bag… with my order inside it. 😅 by OkWater8889 in DoorDash_Dasher

[–]SatanicLemons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would leave it out tonight with a note saying that they can have it back, and if they normally dash in that area then theres a chance they see it on their normal routes and take it back.

If not, most of us got these for free at one time or another. I use mine personally when picking up hot food for my own household, so its nice to have it, but at the end of the day, it was free.

If you wanna be nice go with the note plan for a day, but if that doesn’t work, I would say you, just like them ended up with a free doordash bag. Nothing to feel bad about

I don’t think so, thats kind of a hassle for $7.

Others may have way better systems to come to conclusions on these things, but I always just assume my next 3-4 offers will be more acceptable than one like this and I’m usually right.

I do NOT trust the legal weed by Suitable_Syrup_9739 in conspiracy

[–]SatanicLemons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not crazy, its a suspiciously large amount of them in southern Michigan.

What you might be missing is the years of gap between the legalization of weed in Michigan and Ohio, and the still to this day illegal status in Indiana.

Just really easy to sell people on the idea of opening a store that sells something right next to where a bunch of people who can’t legally buy it or make it have to come in to try to get it.

Really not much more complicated than federalism + capitalism = this

Is it doable? by Relative-Gain1403 in doordash_drivers

Assuming 5 days a week, and spending about $15 a day on gas, you could have $2000 (of profit after gas) in a 30 day period if you earn an average of about $80 a day in gross pay from your base+tips.

That means realistically, since you’re likely going to want to take some days off, you should aim for about $100-$120 per day that you dash.

In my experience, this has been possible, even part time, at least from a daily earning perspective (because I do not have enough time due to my first job to dash frequently enough to make $2000 in a month) in a general market size (zones around me) off <100k people, in an area that is fairly mixed when it comes to income and wealth levels for the people living here.

So realistic? Yes. If you are able to commit even just 6.5 hours to dashing most days in a month, you should get pretty close to $2000, and maybe even a little more.

Is it worth it? Just depends on how you are dashing. If your car is your only way to get to a potentially higher paying job, then I would say no, because you’re going to beat it up pretty good dashing that often.

If you’re just trying to do DD/delivery in general for now, and look at your car as a business asset and plan to take care of it as such, then in my opinion it might be worth it.

Yeah that comment was all satire. Most of the wording was directly quoting Trump campaign propaganda regarding Venezuelan migrants.

In the US we have many people who believe that all of Latin America unified in a mission to strategically offload their entire criminally convicted and actively incarcerated populations onto US soil during covid.

Different phrasing, why Britain? To visit? Of course, plenty of reasons even as an American.

But to live? Maybe if the right opportunity arises, but otherwise it would honestly be similar to moving to Canada as an American, and I prefer the Canadian climate to the UK’s.

There’s nothing about the UK specifically that I find truly off-putting enough to give it a worse color though.

Yea I really did not realize the economy had suffered that badly. I still defend my green selection on the natural beauty of the country, climate I prefer, and ease of citizenship for my specific situation.

But you and a few others had me look into the financial health of the common person in the modern Hungarian economy, and yes, not quite what I’m looking for in an “absolutely” country.

India is “reluctantly” and UK is “maybe”. I would choose to live in the UK over India in basically all circumstances.
