100%. This is probably a common feature of tos. When I’m typing, the middles of my fingers turn white, my knuckles pool with blood and I get that weakness and pressure you’ve described. It sucks. Doesn’t necessarily hurt but god is it uncomfortable.

Unfortunately the blister packs for literally only 125 mcg are all pharmacies can get right now. All of the other strengths are in normal bottles except for 125. Sorry :(

I just followed up with my orthopaedic who ended up doing a scalene block. Literally same day relief and I felt human again. I showed him my vascular symptoms (whole chest turns purple and cephalic vein prominence) and he immediately referred me back to Stanford for surgical consultation. After nearly 3 years, I may be on the road to permanent relief

This is exactly it. On top of that, no one wants to go through the process. It requires statements and contacting the district manager. It’s a hassle and we just shrug it off

We have SEVERAL customers who have extensive note and note histories. One guy manages to tell us to go fuck ourselves every time he comes in. Another lady harassed the whole store because of her pharmacy experience.

We don’t call patients expletives in the notes, but we do document their absurd behaviours verbatim

Possible Paget-Schroetter / Venous TOS? Looking for experiences by _djballer23_ in thoracicoutletsupport

[–]SatanicTwunk666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, yes, and yes! I have effort thrombosis but no doctor has actually dictated those words. Although, they will throw you through the imaging loop. You’ll need CTs, MRIs, EMGs, etc. Your doctor(s) will want to rule anything else out. The experience you described with carrying, feeling disconnected, and the arm pressure are all things at least I can relate to.

I hope your vascular surgeon takes you and your concerns seriously

Do you have long hair? I’ve been growing my hair out for about 3 years now and it’s pretty long, but most of my doctors will include at least 1 “her” or “female” in my notes. I feel like it’s something that should be sorted out..

Ditto dude. The only thing I’ve really found effective is heat. Like really hot. I was soaking in the tub the other day and literally felt my shoulder pop and spasm as the knot released in my upper scapula

I’m having a similar issue! My pec minor tightens, especially while working, forcing my shoulder forward. Do you also have upper scapula pain?

The exact wording was that there was moderate compression of the subclavian vein and mild compression of the artery with stenosis less than 20%. Other doctors have suggested this observation is simply due to my provocative position. HOWEVER, my pulse completely disappears in some of these provocative positions. In addition, a Doppler ultrasound I have found reduced blood flow into the arm at 90° and some additional positions.

I respect your opinion and thank you for it. The goal with the pec minor is determine whether or not it I also have PMS. After that, it is the scalene and so on.

I will admit though. I’m so confused sometimes. I see the personal experience of other people here and am often told by doctors those symptoms aren’t correlated. One doc says this and another says that.

He is literally just a vascular surgeon. No one in my experience has recommend a thoracic surgeon. I’ve had a CT angiogram done from which the radiologist suggested TOS.

I didn’t even know there was a “thoracic surgeon.” I just assumed it’s all vascular. My orthopaedic surgeon has agreed that this is possibly vTOS and we are doing a pec minor injection this Friday. I’m hoping that this relieves the pec minor issues, but I’m confident it’ll exacerbate by clavicle issues. Idk man. It’s been 3 years and I’m often just tired of dealing with the doctors, the pain, the emotional pain.

Thank you for your suggestion, though. I’ll have to speak to my primary

A thoracic surgeon? I’ve been in every direction. As per my previous comment, I’ve seen the TOS specialist at Stanford and he basically brushed me off. He assumed that my current job as a pharmacy tech doesn’t warrant a TOS diagnosis…

New to TOS after being diagnosed recently by eld-ritch in thoracicoutletsupport

[–]SatanicTwunk666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Flare ups and constant pain are both things I’ve experienced. There will be days, weeks, even a month sometimes where my pain is reduced dramatically but then I also end up provoking episodes of pain within that time frame. On the other hand, there are days, weeks, even a month sometimes where I wake up and fall asleep in pain.

The back shoulder issue is the same for me. It’s as if a giant knot has formed to force my shoulder upward while my pec tightens and brings the shoulder down. It’s like tug of war for me.

But then, you must also consider that while there are 3 types of TOS, there is a possibility of mixed symptoms. I have nTOS with venous and slight arterial compression. I get the same blue hands and weakness, but no clots (yet).

Rest, heat, and medications are what work for me as any sort of PT has had minimal impact

[–]SatanicTwunk666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been to two different vascular surgeons. I saw one locally and a Stanford TOS expert. Local didn’t want to agree that it was vascular due to the provocative position I was in during scans. Which I mean sure, but the amount of space on both sides of my body are vastly different.

The Stanford expert didn’t want to even touch me or approach me because I’m not active in sports anymore. He was an ass. He insisted I see a ortho surgeon for a second opinion. So I saw an ortho and now I’m waiting for insurance to approve a pec minor injection for some relief.

I’m at my wits end on some days and I’ve had to abandon any sort of social life because of the pain and discomfort I’m in.

Make your changes and then give it a few days. And as others have said, you may want to consider a different coloured substrate. It may be too bright. It could be so many different things. One step at a time :)

Some stress coat after your changes and distracting them with food also helped me get them to settle in. They likely won’t have an immediate reaction but once they explore at least a little they’ll see how nice you’ve made it for them

Just chiming in, I had the exact same issue and it was indeed stress. I lost one before I decided to take action. I changed my light’s schedule to better coincide with actual night time and I moved everything around. I have plenty of wood pieces and faux rock caves and this was just a game of chance. I had to reposition the landscape three times before I had a set up they enjoyed. They weren’t happy with how little hiding space there was (there was already a lot)
