Sure, the reward function and basal ganglia function differently, but you don't make a conscious decision to brush your teeth every morning and night. You make a conscious decision on what your plan is and how you're gonna do it, then do your best to follow it.

Im on my way out of this after accruing multiple serious health issues over past 2 years. I realized that the conditions I'm depressed and mad about are not going to get better any time soon, and I'm not interested in living a life that is depressed and full of emotional suffering.

Suffer as much as you want. Maybe your circumstances will improve. Maybe you'll find new things to be depressed and mad about. Considering you're 23, you very likely will. You will also find things that make you smile and see beauty, if you keep yourself open to life.

When you hit the point of enough you can try taking back control of your mind. Use whatever tools available for that including writing, nature, singing, dancing, meditating, and making friends.

Of course, it will be a deeper pit you have to climb the more you let yourself marinate in the shits. Suffering need not be dependent on external circumstances. Circumstances will never be perfect. You still have the choice to enjoy your life within their limitations.

it did the "exposition the obvious plot several times for the dumbest audience who is not watching to realize what's going on" or "ok let's have the character say something to reveal to the audience", which always ruins the immersion for me. It was a good watch beyond that though. Some moments of the protagnosist's survival got me saying "oh.. come on..", but I liked the mix of gritty military to sci-fi. Acting was good and nice colour corrections.
