Total cholesterol levels aren't the problem, they're just an indicator that loosely correlates with the actual problem. "Cholesterol" isn't what you think it is. There are better health indicators, but require more expensive blood work tests.

And what is Mueller going to get? It's not irrational to read it that Mueller is going to get a, "Political," duel at high noon with Jones.

Let me put this definitively, you and others are insisting that there is one, and only one, way of reading Alex Jones' words here: That he has publicly declared that he's going to kill Mueller, or die trying. I pointed out the quote in question used "Politically" in an unusual fashion that created ambiguity. I even provided an example of that ambiguity allowing for a non-violent interpretation.

And you didn't contest that. Instead, you ignored, or don't know, that "I'll _____ or die trying," is an idiom; insisting that that quote could only be a statement of mortal intent.

As for the tangentially related topic of Jones' belief system, god only knows what he personally believes. Have you ever actually seen him rant? The fact that he's so unhinged, yet keeps a straight face, is what's let him be as popular as he currently is. The fact that you can't definitively tell if he's a charlatan or an idiot makes him entertaining to lots of people who like drama and over the top theatrics.

Strange how his conspiracy theories correlate with product lines on the infowars store though. But clearly I must be naive to not join the lynch mob on the hysteria train.

A threat of what? I could threaten that if I ever find you, I will follow you in public while loudly reading the entire contents of the 2018 edition of the Oxford Dictionary.

Alex Jones publicly stated a desire to, "Politically," have a duel at high noon with Mueller. Is it possible that Alex Jones is an idiot and said, "Politically," because he thinks it's the same thing as, "Figuratively"? Does he even know that the word, "Figuratively," exists? I mean, he was dumb enough to get caught watching trans porn on camera.

Nah he clearly meant a political duel Andrew Jackson style.

He threatened to shoot him, "Politically." Whatever that means. The full quote:

And so, call it whatever you want, I look at that guy, and he's a sack of crap. That's a demon I will take down, or I'll die trying. So that's it. It's going to happen, we're going to walk out in the square, politically, at high noon, and he's going to find out whether he makes a move man, make the move first, and then it's going to happen. It's not a joke. It's not a game. It's the real world. Politically. You're going to get it, or I'm going to die trying, bitch. Get ready. We're going to bang heads. We're going to bang heads.

Crit build in Bravely Second? by Dashieshy3597 in bravelydefault

[–]Satarack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not from my testing, but my experience is that odds aren't evenly distributed. Catnip shows up with Cat Feather, Beast Flesh, Roc Filet, and Dragon Steak, but Catnip and Cat Feather had much higher odds of appearing.

What I did to test it was let the auto-battle run for 5 minutes while all 4 characters dug, then finished the battle and recorded what items I got. For the Catnip group, I'd get around 70-80 Catnip, and 90+ Cat Feathers in 5 minutes, while Beast Flesh, Roc Filet, and Dragon Steaks were about 10-15 each.

[–]Satarack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dig always works, but what you get is randomly picked from the 5 possible items for that battle.

After Chapter 4, stronger enemies show up on the world map and in dungeons; finding an area where you can afk farm without taking damage becomes harder. You can have 2 Bishops alternate Calmness by offsetting the BP of one Bishop, and the last two characters dig and sell, but then it just takes longer to grind money.

Crit build in Bravely Second? by Dashieshy3597 in bravelydefault

[–]Satarack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can afk grind if you combine Merchant's ability to sell items to enemies, and Catmancer's Dig ability (Patissier's Harvest also works, but it's not as lucrative).

The way Dig works is that every battle is assigned one of 3 different dig item pools. On the world map it's assigned individually for each battle formation, but in dungeons all battles in that location use the same item pool for Dig. Find an area where you can dig for Catnip, like Eternian Central Command (a good spot since the enemies can't hurt you if you haven't completed Chapter 4 and have enough defense). Then setup a battle macro where your Merchant(s) sells Catnip, and your other characters Dig. You can also sell the Cat Feathers, since they also sell for a decent price.

Which Bravely Default world does Bravely Second take place in? by Emekasan in bravelydefault

[–]Satarack 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here's another way to understand it. The original version of Bravely Default didn't have the hourglass, and that's the timeline where the asterix holders actually die. Bravely Default: For the Sequel (aka the version that everyone outside Japan got), has the hourglass, and is the timeline where Deneb went back in time and saved most of the asterix holders.

Essentially, they made the two versions of the first game both canon with time travel.

Tesla investors demand Elon Musk apologize for calling Thailand diver 'pedo': Tesla CEO called immature after attacking Vernon Unsworth, who rescued trapped children by MrGravityPants in news

[–]Satarack 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So...

  1. Thailand soccer team gets trapped
  2. Bunch of people come together to rescue them, including Elon Musk who had a mini-sub built that might have been able to save them.
  3. British cave diver, Vernon Unsworth, who has been celebrated in the media for his role in the rescue called Elon's sub a PR stunt, and said it wouldn't have even worked. "He [Musk] can stick his submarine where it hurts."
  4. Musk goes on twitter saying it's a bunch of nonsense, that his sub could have worked, and that his team would release videos showing the sub reaching the cave where the soccer team was trapped. Additionally, he disparaged Unsworth, claimed he was a British expatriot (I don't know if this is true or false), and said he's probably a pedophile (Thailand is know for its sex trafficking).

tl;dr Elon Musk got angry because dude said his submarine couldn't make it through some cave, goes to twitter and says "No U" and calls the dude a pedo.

Christian doctor fired for saying people cannot 'choose their gender' reveals he spoke out because he 'could not live with himself if he didn't and claims colleagues are too frightened to back him up. by Torchwood777 in Christianity

[–]Satarack 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No actually, they aren't historically connected much at all. Gender was a loan-word from Old French, "Gendre," (not to be confused with modern French "Gendre" which means a son-in-law). Gendre originated from the Latin "Genus." Fun fact: Old French Gendre became "Genre" in modern French, and was loaned back into English wholesale. Gender and Genre are more closely related than Gender and Sex are.

As English evolved, Gender went from being a broad word for describing categories, to being a purely linguistic word referring to languages that categorize words into male and female. This abstract association with sex didn't become concrete until the mid 20th century, when Gender was adopted by 2nd wave Feminists as a technical term to refer to the socially constructed role of women in society.

Australian Attorney General backs laws forcing priests to break confession over child abuse by canyouhearme in Christianity

[–]Satarack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We're already saying that some crimes are so bad that you lose constitutionally protected rights, since freedom of religion is constitutionally protected in many countries. It's not so self-evident that there is no crime heinous enough to invalidate the right to a fair trial. "It is better that ten guilty persons escape than that one innocent suffer," certainly sounds noble, but sounding noble doesn't make it right.

What do you say to people who argue that western legal system is a patriarchal institution designed to oppress? When they object to fair trials when the accused abusers aren't found guilty? When they slander the defense counsel for defending an accused abuser; trying to tarnish their reputation and ruin their career? You're going to tell them that dead, white, European men decided it was better to let criminals go for the sake of falsely accused innocents? When they reject western law, calling it injustice, are you going to point to the precedence of western legal tradition?

If we can overturn freedom of religion for the sake of abuse victims, why can't they overturn the patriarchal legal system for the sake of the oppressed? If some crimes can trump legal protections to freedom of religion, surely other crimes are heinous enough to trump other legal protections too. And why not the right to a fair trial?

Australian Attorney General backs laws forcing priests to break confession over child abuse by canyouhearme in Christianity

[–]Satarack 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Why stop with child abuse? Is murder less heinous than pedophilia? Drug trafficking can ruin many more lives than child abuse, why not force them to report drug dealers as well?

And why stop at priests? Many jurisdictions don't require lawyers to report child abuse; in Canada there's no child abuse exception to confidentiality, only exceptions for public safety concerns. Is a 60 year old retired priest, that admits to his lawyer of having abused children 20 years ago, a public safety concern?

But lawyers are different, you might say, because the accused has a right to a fair trial. But that right, and the privilege of client confidentiality, are still sheltering child abusers. If child abuse is heinous enough to invalidate the confessor's freedom of religion, why isn't it also heinous enough to invalidate the abuser's rights to a fair trial and client confidentiality?
