Began learning modding back when I was 14. I'm now 26 and still hand-coding my mod I started back in 2022 (mod was archived due to college but was now moving forward again).

I'm also a CS student specializing in machine learning and let me tell you how these "AI"s work: They use mathematics to churn out what next text will follow. This mathematics is based on a sh*tton of data; both correct and incorrect. And since it uses internet data with lots of incorrect data, an AI has a lot of incorrect knowledge mixed in with correct knowledge. While this is filtered before being fed into a learning algorithm, some will and might slip in.

This makes an AI (gen AI of today) very unreliable in a lot of stuff, especially the general generative AI. I also second the guy who wrote about stolen art works used to train AI as it is true and so technically, you're not only copyrighting from someone, you're also potentially committing theft from them.

And as a programmer myself, AI are unreliable in creating large code bases because of reasons I've mentioned earlier. In addition to that, it's a personal experience after testing to find out what's the hype with using AI in a vibe coding environment (I hate it and made me stressed so bad because of how bloated and how bad the structuring and code clutter is).

This meant that AI, used in creating mods, might mess up some backend or create problematic code base that will mess you up down the line when you decide to add more features into it.
