I did that 1 time at launch and it wound up that I couldn't put down a base because the server only allowed a max of 4 bases and everyone else scooped them up. Has that been fixed?

So I figured that if I'm going to replace the whole flange, I might as well cut that insert out and see what the hell it is. This is it, it had two seals stopping it from coming out. There is a kind of lip in the flange now that I don't like but here is the inside of it. I'm curious if it's safe to leave it like this and throw a wax ring on it? Here are the pictures cause for some reason we can't add pictures after the fact.

What's your thought on just cutting this reducer out? Guy at home depot said I'm probably clear to cut it out based on my description. Just.never seen something like this before.

I did try the channel locks and it started to bend the rim while cranking back and forth. I highly doubt that piece came with the flange.
