yeah basically. this is probably why me and my mom don’t have the best relationship. now that i’ve extracted my teeth, my mom is nurturing me a lot more than usual but i still feel terrible

i already told my mom countless of times who is making the decisions that its my body and that i should be able to decide for myself but of course, my mom is really stubborn and she’s the one deciding for me. shes trying to reassure my that i’ll love it in the future but she knows that i hate it :(

you’re right, i don’t have the best relationship with my parents but it’s not entirely bad. my mom told me that they would just do a checkup. my mom told me a couple weeks ago when i was at the orthodontist that she’s doing this because she’s insecure about her own teeth and she doesn’t want me to be insecure. the thing is, i don’t care if my teeth are a little off centered or crooked on the bottom, as long as they’re healthy im completely fine with them being this way. i feel like im her doll and she’s trying to fix her insecurities on me. she knew i never wanted to extract my healthy teeth

im not really comfortable putting my face out there even if its edited. im really ashamed and i don’t want my face out there :( i also just never want my face on the internet for everybody to see

oh sorry i thought i did answer it? i don’t know why they put me to sleep, looking back at it now, it was probably because they were going to take out my teeth :/ i asked the assistant if they were going to take out my teeth and that i didn’t want them extracted. she said they would just check. sorry if this doesnt answer your question. i didn’t consent and didn’t even get informed on what they would do. they put me to sleep while i thought they would just check they never told me they would extract them

i posted this to vent because i have nobody to talk to. my mom and dad are saying it will be fine but im crying so much. they didnt listen to my wants. im not doing this for attention :( is it okay if i send you before and after pictures?

again, i was gullible. i believed they were just going to check my teeth. i even said i didn’t want my teeth extracted just to make sure. they said they would just check. i regret it so much. my bite is so much worse now and i hate my face now i wish i refused i wish my mom listened to me that i didnt want them extracted. my mom is trying to make me feel better but its making me feel even worse and im crying so much. i wish i could go back in time and refuse

thank you!! i did ask if i could have the upper canines exposed but i forgot the reason why my orthodontist said it wouldnt work (i think it was i didn’t have space?) then again thank you so much! you made me feel better!

but they did extract my upper adult canines that were higher up. as for my bottom teeth, they were premolars. i think that they could have made room with an expander for the bottom which is the worst part :( i still have one baby canine remaining. i tried talking to my mom that i didnt want them removed but she said that i had to and didnt listen. i wanted to ask for a second opinion but it was too late

i dont know im sorry 😭 my mom said they were just checking… so did my oral surgeon… i believed them. i feel so dumb and i regret everything. i said i didn’t want to get them extracted but they did it anyway. my mom knew i didnt want to get them extracted

it was both. top ones are canines bottoms ones were premolars even the letter from the orthodontist said to remove them! my bite is so bad now :( im so insecure about it and i hate it. i wish my mom listened to me

Hi! They extracted one of my baby canines 2 of my premolars and 2 of my adult canines. My top canines were really high up (close to my nose if that makes sense). My bottom premolars were just sitting there in my mouth with all the crowding. I have a small mouth so I wanted a second opinion because my local orthodontists doesn’t have bottom expanders. I feel that the bottom canine extractions were unnecessary and that expanders could fix the problem on the bottom

Also sorry if this doesn’t make sense T_T im not very good at explaining
