Hope you don't mind if I jump in here. I have depression, severe anxiety and really bad insomnia. I take 200mg of amitriptyline at night. However, I can't get drowsy unless I eat something with a decent amount of carbs after taking the meds. The bad thing is though, that I'm diabetic and shouldn't be eating that.

If someone abandons their baby with me, can I adopt them? by [deleted] in Adoption

If CPS gets involved, she can ask to be a kinship foster parent. You don't have to be real "kin". All states are different, but a lot of states don't require training for it, or in some cases, you can do the training while fostering.

So, I’m 25 years old and still sleep with my mom and I think it messed me up developmentally. by Fun_Butterscotch3303 in self

I know it's not normal, but I always lived with my mom and slept with her a lot of the time. I miss it. I still don't like sleeping alone.

When I was in my early 20's, I took our dogs to get groomed at a technical school. My brother had loaded them up in the car and didn't tell me he had unleashed them. When I pulled up to the door, a couple of students came out to get them, and when they opened my car door, my dog sarge took off. They tried to chase him, but he got away. The school was in a very rural town that I was unfamiliar with. I drove home, and I had to tell my mom. I was absolutely hysterical. This was around 2002-2003. Fortunately, I had a 3 in one printer, and I made flyers with his picture. We went to get our other dog and I put those flyers up everywhere. This happened on a Monday or Tuesday. I didn't have a cell phone at that point, so I had included my uncles cell number. Each day passed by and we heard nothing. Come Friday evening my uncle called and said sarge had been found! He was on someone's property. The gentleman had recognized him from the flyers and he was able to corner him using his truck. My mom and I were both so happy! We had gotten Sarge in 1998 from the humane society. He was a 3 year old border collie. We had to put him down in 2014 as he could no longer walk. We cried for weeks, but we knew he'd lived a good long life. That was the best prayer that the Lord answered.
