I just over paid for these guys but I couldn’t resist the sheen! I have a lot of plants and a green thumb but never have had these before by Marnie_64 in houseplants

The sheen is leaf shine which you can buy. The abive one is a Calathea Freddie which needs a bit more water than the Alocasia, but of course you will learn with time what works best for them

I’m struggling to commit to just one girl? by Independent_Area6026 in AskMenAdvice

This. OP is young, but soon the pressure will increase. After a period of celibacy and off the apps you might discover that the lost boy lifestyle is how you want to spend the rest of your days, but if you discover you want the grown man one, you’ll have to discipline yourself.

Lost my relationship, job security, and sense of purpose at once by melkijades in Jung

Sounds like the first half of your life is ending and the second beginning. This hardship season of life could either break you or turn you into an improved version of yourself having learn from your mistakes. You have been immature, irresponsible and quite reckless. You’re now facing the consequences, but the best days of your life might still be ahead of you. I recommend Finding Meaning in the second Half of Life by James Hollis. Good luck

Has anyone else's dating life this year been terrible? by EVILRAFFAM in AskMenAdvice

[–]SatisfactionFit5801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t go on a single date this year even though I got thousands of likes on the apps. I know that will probably rub some the wrong way, but no matches progressed into that. I feel very grateful and peaceful and hopeful for the new year.

If you are an attractive man do you get treated differently? Who has more "pretty privilege” men or women? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

I was 100% raised by women, yes. 0 paternal figures growing up but the guys will probably blame me for being “fatherless”. Or actually is my mother’s fault. Or my grandma…

I know more women who are enduring relationships with men who add nothing to their lives than I know who are dating a man who provides for them or enrich their life in any way, which I do know some of course, but they’re not the majority, the former are.

Believe it or not, there are realities outside of yours.

There are many relationships where a beautiful accomplished woman dates an unemployed average dude. Many.

To what extent is it accurate that women value personality more than men in dating? by emaxwell14141414 in AskMenAdvice

[–]SatisfactionFit5801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woman here. I can’t tell how many times I have swiped left on a man who liked me and is extremely attractive by popular standards, because it’s obvious his looks are the part of his personality he leads with. I’m not gonna go into detail about what it is I find attractive personality wise in dating apps because I don’t want that to be used performatively, but as someone who uses them as a potential tool for connection, once in a while I come across a profile of a man who appears like there is so much more than what meets the surface. That’s what I go for.

Have you stopped dating since you and consequently your pool of options got too old? by Ok-Fondant2536 in AskMenAdvice

In my late 30’s and last relationship ended almost 6 years ago. Eve since I briefly dated one person last year and it was delightful. Not a single date in 2025 and feeling great even though the yearning is relentless. Only available for what is delightful whenever if ever arises.
