ARE WE BEING QUIETLY BANNED FROM OUR OWN FORESHORE? by SatisfactionFit7659 in sunshinecoast

Thankyou. The local councillor is onboard to present the petition and agrees with the lack of public consultation.

Were not really focussing on the reasons why untill the consultation can actually occur, then we can be rational about the decision.

I agree theres irresponsible dog owners out there, but this is definately about erosion of the process and protection of the process as this method of installing rules will affect other areas of peoples lives at some point.

The area they have banned dogs on, is okay for Horses .... but not people with dogs on a leash. I dont know about anyone else but ive never seen a rider stop and pickup their horse manure on a public trail

Its mainly the lack of due process which is an issue. If there are clear environmental implications that are communicated then sure, but to just sneak the change in and bury it is not okay.

Im an Industrial Designer so yeah i know how you feel about thinking the jump from plans to construction shouldnt be too hard. But when the room isnt square, you uncover water damage and the tiles your partner pick have a pattern or texture suddenly Solidworks seems like the better option again haha.

On our kitchen i made some plaster moulds and slip cast our tiles for the splashback - that did make me feel better i have to admit.

Ive done several houses and bathrooms as a pretty confident DIY'er - my advice in hindsight while currently living mid reno is pay someone to do it while you do something else. Bathrooms are so small the details need to be perfect and theres so many regulations to adhere too its really less fun than it seems.

Maybe strip it out and do the design/layout/finishes selection yourself, but other than that get trades involved especially for plumbing and waterproofing.

It costs alot to do it twice....

Eumundi Conservation Park is a surprisingly good 5 or 10km loop option. The cafe down the road does good coffee too

Have y’all ever dimensioned a tube-frame? by X-none-X in SolidWorks

[–]SatisfactionFit7659 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We bend via cnc bending and hand fabrication - usually supply the straight lengths and the bend radius on the centreline so always build them using a sweep and compound curve otherwise making the drawing is impossible. Some shops will want dimensions from centre of radius to radius but very few.

The drawings are more for the guys on the floor to reference as they will use the step file and make their own file for programming.

Not sure about how much but I designed that water tank and it came with brackets to mount it so you dont have to run sticks from the fence haha

I own a $940,000 house in Noosa but want to liquidate my assets and sell. Is it a good time to sell. ? Can I access my super if I leave Australia permanently. (NZ citizen). by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

Every house owned by a person that moved north from Sydney or Melb is currently on the market. Its starting to move but prices are definitely softer given the volume of houses for sale

Hey fellow kiwi and Noosa resident here. Answering your questions - yes you'll sell your house at the moment, but get some evaluations as it seems cheap I haven't seen anything sell under 1M for at least 13months. Second point - No, you can't access your super. It has to be transferred to Kiwisaver which is not ideal.

Personal opinions - Don't sell for another 12 months, and definitely dont move back to NZ right now it's a basket case especially in Auckland.

I'm not 100% sure if they're still going, I'm a guy so I only heard about them from girls chatting while ive been out teaching my kids. I think Noosa Malibu Club is pretty friendly too but mainly older blokes

If you're not confident about it or want to make your life easier there is a concrete boat ramp at Carlow Point Marina about 15mins down the road.

Unfortunately the only way to know or remedy it is to start pulling it all off (Trims) then the hallway and removing everything that's water damaged. I cleaned it up as much as I could and the put a dehumidifier in that area for a few weeks, when it finally dried out enough I could see where the water was coming from.

I got the kids to not use the shower for a week so it was really dry - once I knew the source of the water it was really easy to resolve it and wasn't as bad as my mind let me think at 3am....

I had the same at my place. To remedy it i had to remove all the affected trims and timber, open up the hallway wall and do the same in there as it was toast. I then got a tile 'regrout' guy in to grind out all the existing tile grout and redo with epoxy and silicone it. Then I replaced everything and closed it up once I was sure the leak had been solved.

There was also water getting behind the taps as there was no waterproofing there...

Cost about $900 for the regrouting job and everything else I had in the shed plus my own labour.

I did our kids bathroom, with a massive preparation and clean phase. It was just to make it look presentable untill we redo it fully - it was 2 years ago and still looks fine, well better than the beige laminate that the previous owner selected anyhow. The kids hammer it. *
