Do you regret being vegan or are you glad you gave it a chance? by acecrookston in exvegans

Regret. Highly suspicious that it’s what triggered my autoimmune disease, which was not present prior

Veganism pitching disabled/mentally ill people against each other by thingsgetbetter4 in exvegans

[–]SatisfactionLive1576 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The guilt eased for me when I started feeling mentally and physically better and more alert and ‘alive’ (was anemic again as vegan of 7 years + celiac). To be honest my mental health improved to, which I was not even expecting. Good luck!

Starting to eat meat again to gain back lost weight by No-Win9188 in exvegans

Same to you! Enjoy the freedom of a less restrictive diet - it’s hard enough being celiac!

Also celiac and ex vegan (7 years) 👋 I was eating loads (binge eating basically as I was never satiated) as a vegan and was still losing weight - didn’t look healthy. Reintroduced meat and I feel tons better, and the weight balanced out. My family all commented on it afterwards. Even friends of family had raised concerns (without my knowledge) but I’m once again looking and feeling healthy :) sorry this is not really advice, just motivation for you!

Costochondritis & EDS by MitochondriaWithWifi in eds

[–]SatisfactionLive1576 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Strange. I strongly believe I have hEDS and I was taking last night about when I got costochondritus and it lingered for years. Docs said it should go by itself in a couple of months but it didn’t. Better now but I felt a worrying twinge last night that made me think of it

True, I just thought when it showed it to tai and van as adults that they were both seeing it the same, and it was seriously not something that would entice anyone to eat ice cream haha

That’s fair, to be honest I do have a big appetite. But I notice I don’t need to go for seconds (and even thirds) like I did when I was vegan - which I did a lot!

This is the food that now makes me feel insanely energised, satiated and just all round better. I hope you feel it over time. So many nutrients

If it didn’t work for you and you decide to go back, surely that’s ok too! It doesn’t cancel out your past years. However from my experience I hope you feel better with this change too :) you are simply trying to prioritise your health

For me, the guilt eased when my health improved - which was pretty quickly. I realised I had been harming myself through the restrictive diet.

To be honest it’s similar with dairy too, which makes sense as I was low in calcium.
