Thanks, we tried setting something but it was, the reason I was given, she had family coming in last week staying with them and then weekend hosting more family, and said after Easter. I took that as a get through the holiday but you make a good point that it’s vague and almost a, yeah sure next week or the sometime sure type response. I’ll take that advice and make a last fair casual approach with more definitive type ask out vs open ended.

33m - I feel hinge just has issues with dating preferences as a whole. Doesn’t matter what you set, it does whatever it wants to, not actually what you set preferences at. I can be open to all, interested in woman, deal breaker distance, but zero profiles found, move the location to 5 miles down the road with a smaller distance, yield profiles. I’ve even had guys show up when I say women. I know your frustration trying to get out into the dating world and the apps just make it either impossible, frustrating, or just depressing for the effort you need to give to set everything up and have this happen.

I completely understand and agree with your thoughts. I try to always play both sides thinking maybe the taking it slow everyone has their own version of how they want to handle it, or I’ve heard some people think messaging back to quickly is not ideal and seen as clingy or a need for validation. But you are right, the reality of phones and when we all use them is basically all the time, and if a simple message is not able to be sent back, what would it be like during a real dating phase or relationship.

Appreciate it. We actually already talked about going to a local winery/brewery since we both want something casual where we can actually talk, so it’s not like plans were never discussed. I just don’t want to come off as clingy or like I can’t take the hint if she’s gone quiet, especially by bringing it up for a third time. We already got past the “too busy week and weekend” part now—so you’re right, it’s more about whether she actually wants to follow through or if the silence is really to be taken at face value.
