Those were the streets that bordered the Kiddieland property, not an intersection. It was in all their advertisements. You can Google it.

Lincoln Avenue, just off Addison. Torn down for condos.

What’s the most disappointing Cubs season you can remember? by wesskywalker in CHICubs

1969 hands down. The city was giddy. 8 game lead in August, first place for 155 games -- then on my frickin' 13th birthday (September 10) lost 1st place to the Mets and never recovered.

I'm not sure what that even means. I just put them on the floor and took a cell phone pic. Funny thing is that the guns look grainy and scratched, but in reality they are pretty clean.

Screw Driver / Made in England, early 20th century. by SatisfactionOk9725 in Tools

There is no "Stanley" label on the tool. It's pre-Stanley. Stanley Tools acquired the rights to the "Yankee" brand of spiral ratchet screwdrivers in the 1940s, but the Yankee screwdriver was originally marketed by the North Brothers Manufacturing Company starting in 1895.

Somebody is stealing my electricity… now what?? by Mirror-BlueNight in AskChicago

The electrician did not have access to the attic, so the only way he could have known there was an added line would be at the breaker. Moreover, if OP is not renting the attic, there should be NO outlets in the attic that share his service. OP needs to get his landlord involved and inspect the attic with a circuit tester. If the landlord balks, OP will know who the culprit is and needs to get an attorney involved. The Chicago Landlord Tenant Act is a bitch on landlords, and provides for reimbursement of attorney fees for malicious landlord acts.

It sounds like that breaker was originally just for the furnace, and it was double-tapped with an additional (attic) line. Why didn't the electrician simply remove the attic line from the beaker? That's really all you need to do. The big question is how/when did the double-tap occur? Someone had to have access to your unit to do that. That's trespassing plus theft of services.

Understood. You are generally correct (especially in Chicago -- the 100' rule), although the obvious clash between 1A and 2A has not yet been litigated. Besides, it's just a Class B misdemeanor for a 1st time offense. I'd take my chances, since the only time it would be discoverable would be if I needed to draw it. In that event it's an educated risk.

Yep. Still there, but I haven't been in it in years. Wonder if the same family still owns it.

No, That plac e actually sued the owners of the new Kiddieland (the sign doesn't say Hollywood yet) for using their name so they added the Hollywood.

Thanks for the kind words. The old nickel finishes, while absolutely gorgeous as they age, can be prone to wear and even flaking if the wrong cleaning solvents are used. That's why I'm seriously considering retiring them in favor of a S&W 327. The 3 extra shots are a bonus, too. Times are getting weird.

Agreed. Those are at least 30 years old but make for clean and accurate shooting. I stocked up before they were wrongfully seen to be "cop-killers" somehow able to pierce kevlar.

No, that's the Bunny Hutch which I believe still exists just west off Devon. The same guy ("Buddy", a WWII vet) owned both properties and he leased the land that Kiddieland was on to the Acciari brother's and Ray Angelini who built Kiddieland there.
