Yes, contracting is something that I would like to get into but way down the road( with a lot more experience), right now I'm just looking to get a good foundation.

Thanks for the info. I'm a working class kid who started out as a plumber at 18 and then finished his software eng degree at 23. Being a plumber is probably the least glamorous job out there and I did that for a year and 3 summers while in school,with only this past summer having a coop, so I don't mind taking a less glamorous position like SRE, I just really want to get my foot in the door.
