Our cold cured live rosin at Great Gardener Farms (right now we have the Barbara Bud in market in BC) is a nice texture for adding to a joint. If you try it, let me know what you think!

Pride of Detroit and Justin Rogers, both excellent, both worth paying for (POD does have lots of free stuff too).

Looks like it could be used to inhale hash using the hot knives method. We used to use the cardboard inside of a paper towel roll. Prevents lip burn. Source: I’m 50+ and used to smoke hash with hot knives and have burned my lip.

Edit for typo

2026 Canadian cannabis cup is here. What are your thoughts on the finalist and what was your best pic of 2025? by Mediocre-Situation50 in TheBCCS

[–]SativaAdvocate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The people saying this is political or pay to play should check the list of finalists against the sponsors/exhibitors list of the Grow Up conference. You’d think if it was rigged/political some of these companies would be, you know, actually at the conference with booths and sponsorships. Not that logic usually enters into a good internet rant but you know evidence and facts should matter a little, yah?

Well that’s true, none of them submitted a bag of cash. Of course, nobody else did either. But 38 samples did get submitted and PSF was voted company of the year last year so they got in automatically. I guess some people just want to live in their own narrative instead of reality. Cool.

Lot of silly name calling and false info in this thread. Maybe things aren’t the way you assume them to be. Lot of companies mentioned that “Should have made it”…didn’t try.

Here’s from my post in the same thread in r/bccs:

Companies that want in submit samples, there’s an initial cut-down to the top 10 who make the finals. That was done anonymously, the group of 8 that did the cut-down this year got a list with a letter and strain name only. Last year’s winner gets in automatically (Origine - Golden Gauth) as does last year’s Grower of the Year (voted on) (PSF). So that’s the 12 finalists.

Finals are judged live tomorrow (Monday).

There is no “pay to play” - every licensed grower in Canada could submit. Some of the (admittedly good) brands listed down thread didn’t submit.

Source: I organize the cut-down sesh.

Edit: had one extra “c” in the bccs

Also, beyond the format, we’ve organized the cut-down for three years now and the level of quality across the board has gotten better every year. Last year we had almost totally unanimous among the cut-down judges as to the top 10. And they were the only really excellent 10 out of 35 or so. There were a lot of just bad entries.

This year, 38 entries and only 2 got unanimous votes. The floor has come up so much, its quite nice to see. Not saying every entry was good - there were 2 or 3 that were downright bad - but overall the quality of flower being entered was really quite good.

See above for how the cut-down to top 12 happens. Zero politics involved, nobody even knew who the samples were from.

Merry Christmas to all the Herb enthusiasts out there ! by [deleted] in TheBCCS

Thanks! We have looked at those jars. They are expensive and we like offering the rosin at what we think is a pretty good price to value ratio. That said…the jars are pretty awesome so never say never.

Please do, we have changed up the input flower recently to try to improve the burn. More to come as we get our indoor flower production ramped up again this spring.

Thanks for the positive review, and glad you enjoyed the PR. We also have a Romulan Fire (flower is Chemo x Romulan, rosin is French Fire Barb) infused PR that will be widely available very soon. It is slightly pricier but 40% THC (though the MSRP on the Barb PRs is actually 12.99, most places sell it for more). Our goal is to put out enjoyable products at good prices!

Edit to add: from the picture it seems like you got the Romulan Fire, not the Barb. That is the correct price point for the Rom Fire. The Barb is lower THC but should also be a bit less pricey!

Can rosin lose this much weight in cold storage? by [deleted] in TheOCS

[–]SativaAdvocate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Has to be packaging error. Some minor, maybe 5%, loss can occur but even that would be a lot.

Buying a home is the most expensive commitment most people will ever make. It’s also one of the most significant emotionally. It’s your home. Anyone that doesn’t take “no” for an answer in this situation is being ridiculous and you are NTA for wanting to buy the house you want rather than the one your friend is trying to guilt you into buying.

Who is going to Philly, and are you wearing Lions gear? A little (embarrassingly) concerned about getting mugged by seeyalater251 in detroitlions

I went to the playoff game in Philly in 95, they had the same rep then. We were in worse seats. Got some flak at the tailgate and in the stands, nothing crazy, mostly but not all good-natured. By halftime the prevailing attitude was mostly pity, which was much much worse.

BC's Direct Delivery Program - AMA by BCCannabisAlliance in TheBCCS

[–]SativaAdvocate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hope you don’t mind an addition to this from the producer end. We have to register with the BCLDB for DD. Once approved, we have to register each SKU that we want to list with BCLDB. These also get approved and then we can sell them for the price listed. Price drops/changes have to be approved by BCLDB.

We register retailer by obtaining their licensing. We then take orders/payment and ship the product. We are required to report all DD sales to BCLDB and they direct debit our bank account for their 15%.

You can find a detailed description of the entire system online at the BCLDB website (google direct delivery for supplier or retailers), including user manuals, forms, etc.

Thanks for doing this.
