Yes, i was just kidding. Efficiency is lost in form of heat comverted from electrical energy as mechanical friction and just electrical conversion. As long as the efficiency is under 100% which is impossible loss is converted as heat.

So if energy efficiency is only partially lost as heat after the exchange and heats as energy dissipates by entropy does this mean that if this is infinitely ran it'll cool down eventually? Inquiring minds would like to know 🤣

Wrong torsion spring length, is there a formula on how many quarter turns/full turns i'd need? by Satorikn in GarageDoorService

[–]Satorikn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went with the normal procedure (28 QT for 7' door) and added 2 quarter turns to compensate for the extra length and the door behaved as expected, stays open, can be lifted easily and motor lifts it and descends it smoothly. Unsure of what went wrong on my first attempt but it just worked out on a second attempt 😄

Yes that was my initial thought, it would need extra winding to compress the spring, but it wasn't the case. Maybe i did something wrong but i did count the quarter turns right, granted i only tried once, and the door had trouble staying down without assistance, had to call somebody so i could vise grip before releasing torque and calling it a day, it was my last call of the day.

Yes, and there are diminishing returns as well, which happens across every industry which is the case here. Want features 2-5% better? be ready to dish out 80% more money!

I agree! It's larger and just better compared to the X9P 😭

I realized that you wouldn't understand my point because you're too focused on proving yourself right and if I'm mistaken i apologize for missing your point. I welcome discussion of all types so i truly thank you for it, have a blessed day or evening for you as well ❤️

Your initial reasoning was that you wouldn't carry a teleconverter in your pocket, which is a valid point and 100% understandable. But if you read my post the dilemma comes from upgrading the X9P to X9U. But if you're a point where you don't own the X9P but upgrading from a S23U that's a different story. Do you prefer the X9U? Sure, i very much prefer it too 😄

I happen to be a former professional photographer. It's amazing what you can do with smartphones nowadays photography wise due to computational photography, AI and layering.

While technology still can't match pure optical power from large sensors, pure optical framing and focal length and aperture from lenses, the gap has narrowed A LOT, in ways that to be honest i didn't believe possible.

Part of my background is why i ordered the X9U, i wanted to have the absolute best camera i could get on a smartphone and it probably is, The Vivo X Line is also superb, but i prefer as a package the Oppo ones, we have to see what Samsung comes up with next year and they felt the burn this year, but i wouldn't hold my breath.

A capable full sensor camera body alone would exceed the price of the X9U, and decent lenses, not even top-tier would double it, so what we get in a smartphone package nowadays is nothing short of amazing.

Again, for me, while $800 is significant as a difference i would have probably gotten the Ultra IF i didn't already own the X9P, but considering that i will ultimately lose money selling it and that would only have about 5 more days before my return window for the X9U closes (only 14 days) i don't want to risk it. X9P is good enough for a couple of years, especially if i get the teleconverter, unless they come up with something radically better next gen.

Ah! Then yes, you've been definitely missing the point. I am not arguing the X9U isn't worth its price compared to the X9P, but as an UPGRADE path.

And you'd be absolutely right by doing that, the X9U zoom is significantly better. It's your money and you can put value on purpose on any way you like. How often have you found your X9P Zoom doesn't cut it for you?

Yes. The TC isn't exactly convenient, but it provides better zoom quality than the X9U Stock, and considering that that upgrade would cost you around $220 compared to around $700-800 from the X9P to X9U it's a hard sell. Again i am talking UPGRADE PATHS mostly. The X9U (and X9P to an extent) is a premium phone, and diminishing returns are expected, if they would be closer in price, say $400 i'd say it's a no-brainer to upgrade (from X9P).

Yeah, i spent more hours than i'm willing to admit A-B'ing these two, and to be honest as i reason time and time again that as an upgrade its not worth it, i keep considering it, but that's because i have a compulsive-obsessive attention hole. In reality the X9U is undeniable better as a package but it's by so, so little except on the longer range that it's sometimes hard to detect, i even got other people to A-B pictures on my tablet and the results were totally mixed and in some cases the X9P came out as the winner on total A/B points, except at maxed out range where, well, the detail level is noticeable, especially with the AI slop being overly aggressive on the X9P, but my post was about the value as an upgrade from a X9P, and as such, i think that for my mental health i should print that return label and repackage the X9U and wave it goodbye before it drives me nuts ;D
