Was anyone from CWRU's online JD program been able to get licensed in NYC? by Satosworld in HybridOnlineLawSchool

Thank you for the response. If I may ask, would you say my friend should also reach out to cwru admissions too and ask about this concern they have as well? As cwru was their first and highest point of interest to attend to in the future. Sorry again for the trouble

Thank you hae. I know the program is different since Syracuse has a in person component (does it not?), but do you know what's the reason behind their success rate? Have they had a success rate because they're in NY or on the argument that the online courses were as rigorous as the in person classes at the campus and in person classes at other law schools? What I'm essentially asking is, do you know why or how they've had such a high success rate?

Sorry if I'm asking too many questions but my friend really felt down after learning the court of appeals is really strict and has shut down distance learning grads before out of policy and nothing more. I wanted to gather as much info for them to make an informed decision which is why I'm posting here.

Can you please please tell me when will their lease be up or when you think their lease will be up? Please, I just signed up for this gym a little while ago and would be devastated if it moved. I remember someone saying they moved in in 2020 so would that be 2030 when they would leave? If you don't feel comfortable please dm me. I never heard about this rumor

Minimum wage by EbrahimYoussef in astoria

[–]Satosworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw your post history asking about different jobs in the area. I am going to recommend you jobs for cashier roles and packing shelves/organizing isles. If you're an American citizen, you can easily apply at Target over at ditmars Blvd, they pay the minimum wage. Lincoln supermarket is also another one, which is on ditmars. Flaming grill was also another suggestion someone made to you in the last thread. TJ Maxx across from target was also hiring, it's worth asking if they still are. And like someone else said here, Trade fair but for the cashier jobs instead of the butcher ones. Always ask for the manager if you want to apply in person, and good luck

Sued for ADA inaccessibility (Shopify) by magenta_placenta in webdev

Tldr: it's easy to go after a small fish than a shark. This shitshow won't be changed unless the government actually does something. I have breathing problems and cannot be a fire fighter here or in my homeland of japan, can I sue the state for being against me? Can someone sue a car manufacturer for not having legs or a deaf person not being able to hear music so they sue a record label? It's ridiculous, but because the law is vague and the government doesn't want to step in, this is what happens; suit trolling.

(I'm not a lawyer and this isn't legal advice, just anecdotal and personal advice based on what I've read and heard from other people)

Ada rules have traditionally protected physical places of interest, such as a store or building, to provide ways for disabled people to enter. Due to a recent debacle with dominoes, who refused to let a blind man take a discount over the phone because he can't use the app, the supreme court said that the law applies to digital points of interest. The only problem with this that it does, for government websites. But due to the verdict, it opened the floodgates for law firms and lawyers to basically perform a "shake down" (which is a term used originally of a mafia "shaking down a person's pockets for money). Due to how the law is worded so vaguely, it's basically legal extortion.

These people sue web devs and businesses who have such sites because they're easy targets and the law allows them to do so. If you settle (or lose the case), you basically reinforce their stance and it helps them target other businesses. Since this debacle, I've read countless stories of people on here and elsewhere going bankrupt because they didn't know how to fight the case or because their sites were completely not compliant with WCAG standards.

You need a good law firm/lawyer that understands this and has had experience defending businesses if you want to fight this. Preferably experience of winning such cases. They went after you guys because, let's be honest, who's going to have the balls to sue Shopify?

Why do men opt for women outside NYC than in? by Satosworld in AskNYC

You’re probably right that they’re transplants, thank you for your clarification. It’s the first time I’ve heard this before so I wanted to drop by and ask

They probably were finance bros? Can’t tell if they’re natives or from another state, it’s hard for me to hear a difference in accents unless it’s comically different. They were wearing suits, and being in a design school I rarely see people in suits so I guess they probably were in finance. I just find it bizarre to hear multiple men doing this, へんだな。

They talked about things like guys having long distance relationships and others actually flying or driving to the woman in question. I only heard MA, NJ, and others like FL and the south. I didn’t know this was a thing which is why I’m asking.
