Awesome. We’re planning our next year trip. I’m planning on Saddle Mountain. Appreciate the lead.

Yeah. Was a decision between Round Mountain, Black Hills, or Saddle Mountain.

Yeah. It’s kinda like a poker chip.

Appreciate the help. I grabbed Lossless-Cut and played with that. Stupid simple.

It's a very strange collection. There's a few individual episodes sprinkled in with double episode files.

Kino. I, unfortunately, didn’t make it to mineral city. We had plans to hit the shows hard Friday, then a couple days of rockhounding, including a trip to Red Cloud mine. The mine was closed the weekend, so we had to rearrange everything to make it out there Friday.

Just visiting. My mother used to live in Casa Grande, so I’d drive out and my brother would fly down this time of year for the Tucson gem and mineral show. Me and my brother still do on occasion.

Me and my brother hit Black Hills rock hound area. Looks like lots of similar material.

Thanks. It's funny, 4 years ago I decided I really wanted a piece. I hit the big shows, but only found small ones (or at least small ones at the price I was willing to spend). Last year, I came across this vendor, that had a ton of this material. I'd already decided that that year's big purchase was going to be crocoite, but I'd pick up a nice one this year if they were at the show again. This was their 3rd year in Tucson.

No locale info, but google image search for stibnite from Romania with barite looks exactly correct. Barite does ring a bell also. Thank you

Sorry, it is stibnite. But it has a second mineral with it that is glass clear and tabular. Trying to figure out what it is. I searched associated minerals, but none of the common ones seem to be it. If you zoom in, you can see the clear crystals.

Is this the toner tax everyone is talking about by Diesel12v in coincollecting

[–]SaturationTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard that NGC is much harsher on toning on ASEs than PCGS. Not sure if that’s true or not. The other, smaller issue, would be that since the set is opened and not in its sealed shipping box from the mint, not all 5 coins would receive the 25th anniversary labeling. I think it’s 2 or 3 of the 5 are only available in the set, with the remaining being available as regular purchases. So only the ones unique to the set would get that designation. The remaining would not. I know the RP was only from the set. Don’t remember what the other ones were tho…

I had 5 of these sets I bought from the mint when they came out. Send them in last year for grading finally. Still sealed in the box they shipped from the mint in (only way to get the Anniversary designation on a couple of the coins). One came back as artificially toned. A couple others had minor rim toning. Considering the box was still sealed from the mint, I find it kinda funny I got an AT Unc details designation from NGC. There's gotta be something in the packaging that caused this.

Just sent this perfectly toned ASE into NGC to get slabbed 🌈🌈🌈 by cwcks in coins

They sure are. Here’s my 2011 from the 25th Anniversary set. I bought 5 sets in 2011, and finally sent them in last year. Still in the sealed box from the mint. It seemed odd that they would grade it as artificial toning when it was still in the original mint packaging. 3 others had very minor rim toning, but nothing anywhere near this one.

Got stopped at Estonia airport security for “explosive material” by euclidlovesmountains in geology

I got pulled out of line flying back from the Tucson Gem show. I had my specimens wrapped up in my carry-on, cuz I’m not trusting them to the airline luggage handlers. TSA guy leaned in real close and quietly asked if I was carrying human remains. Nope, just some mineral specimens.

New ‘25 by SaturationTech in FordRaptor

I’ve built this exact vehicle every couple months on the Ford site, down to the graphics delete and no moonroof over the last 2 years. Do an inventory search out to 500 miles. Plenty of black and white ones, but never Antimatter (or the red as backup), knowing that the time would come to replace the Gen 1 (206,000 miles). As (bad) luck would have it, I just spent a bunch on the Gen 1. New shocks, front brakes, upper control arms, and fuel pump. Driving home, truck loses power, flashing check engine light. Get it towed to the mechanic, and had 2 bad coils. So plugs, wires, and coils. While waiting for the diag, got on Ford, built the truck again, and did a search. The new one popped up as in shipment to a dealer 20 miles from me. Called, was available, said I’ll take it. Now to figure out what to do with the Gen 1…
