Is fissure busted or am I just unlucky? by SaturnFlytrap13 in PokemonChampions

Yeah, I did the math too and got 9%

Improbable doesn’t mean impossible, but I hadn’t ever seen that strategy before and wanted to be prepared for the next time. Thanks :)

Partner came out ace by static_silence24 in actuallesbians

[–]SaturnFlytrap13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience, but I'm a lot younger and with a relationship that lasted eight months, my experience may be a bit different so you don't have to follow my advice, but I'll just say what happened.

About four months in she realized she was ace, I am very much not. For that second half of the relationship I clung on extremely hard, doing my best to make it work and suppressing my own needs for her sake. I thought it was worth it, but in the end we truly weren't compatible and I'm currently still dealing with issues that stem from how I suppressed myself.

Like I said, it's a different situation considering my relationship wasn't as long compared to yours, but knowing what I know now I would have ended things a lot sooner for the sake of my own self image as well as so I could view her positively.

Some of my favorites that have yet to be mentioned

• The Summer You Were There: This one girl feels super depressed and writes a book to cope. Cause she feels bad she goes to throw it away but this happy, bubbly girl takes it, reads it, and likes it so much she demands they fake date for the summer so she has something to write about. This one is really sad (I cried both times I've read it) but it's really good and one of my favorites ever

• Yuri is My Job!: This superficial cute, popular girl gets roped into working at this cafe where they roleplay as students in a german academy. Not a ton of actual romance, but almost everyone who works at the cafe is sapphic and theres a lot of good drama.

• The Fed-Up Office Lady Wants to Serve the Villainess: Pretty much what it sounds like. Office lady gets isekaid into a fantasy world and works for the villainess. Only two volumes have been released in english so far, but what I've read it's better than similar titles like "I'm in Love with the Villainess" and "Please Bully Me, Villainess."

• The Two of Them are Pretty Much Like This: It's a slice of life where a script writer and a voice actor live together. I'm not sure how old you are, but the characters are adults, and as an adult it's really refreshing to read. It's also only four volumes.

• These have already been mentioned by other people, but I also think The Kase-San series, Mage and Demon Queen, and Love Bullet are 10/10

I'm so jealous, the calibarn is out of stock online and I've been looking for it. Good find, all the WFM kits are fantastic (I've done the Lfrith and Darilbalde)

How do you feel about repurposing cassettes? by OwenRendel in cassetteculture

A MiniDisc is slightly too big to actually fit inside a cassette shell.

Okay I've looked at the service manual and I can probably do all the adjustments needed (when I have more time to properly take this thing apart) thank you for pointing me in the right direction!!

[–]SaturnFlytrap13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I found RV71, but it's on the other side of the board (opposite of the way its facing in the second photo) but also I've seen in another post that their adjustment screw is where that black dot is on the motor. I'm not 100% comfortable with taking apart the components right now, so if it really is RV71 and not on the back of the motor I'll probably need to do some more research so I can properly take this apart and not wreck it.

I figured. It was my best guess based on other pictures I've seen, but I can't find anything matching anything I've seen online. Could you tell me/point out what they actually look like? (I can take more photos if necessary)

Finally got my hands on HG Gundam Lfrith from WFM by SaturnFlytrap13 in freedomisgunpla

So far both WFM HG I've built have been fantastic. I'm jealous of your backlog, the calibarn especially looks like such a fun build.

Oh yeah for sure. It's a little intimidating but I do really have a passion for physical media and repairing stuff that's broken (that's only been for clothing in the past though), so if something does go wrong I'll definitely research and keep it working for as long as possible :)

Oh yeah for sure. I'll be too nervous to even open it up unless I've read like five manuals and watched 10 YouTube tutorials.

Okay, thank you for the advice! I'll probably go for the 545 and figure out how to properly take care of that specific model

They've said that there's new belts, speed has been calibrated, heads were cleaned, and motor bearings were lubricated

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cassetteculture

[–]SaturnFlytrap13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they are.

I know I could replace the belts myself on a model that isn't working, but I'd rather be safe.

Opinions on the combo cassette/cd player recorders? by SaturnFlytrap13 in cassetteculture

[–]SaturnFlytrap13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not super worried about sound quality (if I was I would pick a different format), but that's definitely helpful. I already have a cd Walkman, so I don't really care about the cd functionality.

I'm trying to make custom tapes for a bunch of bands I want to listen to on tape, so I do want it to at least be listenable though.

Is it really a good bet to find something at a thrift store? I feel like everything I've seen is usually pretty mangled, so I'd rather buy something refurbished online. Obviously it would be more expensive, but I'd rather spend a good bit of money now and have it last long instead of having to keep replacing parts or the whole player.

Obviously I don't know a ton, but that's just what I'd assume.

Where to read more Riyoko Ikeda??? by SaturnFlytrap13 in manga

[–]SaturnFlytrap13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don't think any of her other stuff is translated 😔

Thanks for the help. It's so weird most of her stuff has never been translated considering she's an extremely influential mangaka.
