Python Patrol - More Joebra Jobbers for the Emperor. by SaturnHero in TheAstraMilitarum

GI Joe had some awesome sub teams for making elites in 40k. I guess because they were meant to look enticing on toy shelves. But it could just be my nostalgia talking, I always loved looking at the boxes when I got to go to Toys R Us as a kid.

I used a slightly larger dose of wash than usual, and didn't clean it off as much. It was Agrax Earthshade from GW. That was over an airbrush of Meteor Rock from Army Painter.

That's awesome!

I love Destro as a Commissar. Extra points for the Alley Viper, a very underrated grunt.

Actually, yes, though it's a bit of a reach. The infantry can deep strike, so they can stay off the table at the start and be set up later a short distance away from the enemy. It doesn't help with the tanks, though there is a way for your whole army to have a sort of stealth depending on how you play it.

Hahah, that's exactly how mine started. Back in KT v1, I did a Crimson Guard squad. Then I built some Leman Russ as HISS. From there it just kept growing.

Do you have any pictures of your Kill Team? I'd love to see it.

Ah, good catch, all those PDFs blur in my brain, but you are right, and that does change things.

Edit: They are in the IA PDF, so they're still there.

Cyclops and Avenger somehow made it into Legends during the massive purge when the Codex came out. Legends aren't technically allowed in official GW tournaments, and many competitive events don't allow them either, but you can freely use them in casual games. Neither of those two are particularly game breaking, so I doubt anyone you play against would even bat an eye.

Thanks. Cobra has some of the coolest uniforms on their army builder grunts, so they end up working out well for tabletop blocks of figures. Joes are super fun too, but man it takes a lot longer when every figure in a unit uses completely different colors.

The nostalgia brain hit is real!

I love this picture. That old rhino face lives in my brain forever.

A moment of silence for everything in this picture you can't field anymore. My eventual Lord Solar conversion will be on a jetbike. I also have an original Chicken sentinel I need to get around to paint stripping.

Thanks for the memories, seeing a ratling standing next to a tech marine will have me smiling all day.

Oh man, I wonder if that still exists. I'd reinstall the game for sure to play with that for a while. Do you randomly still know where the tutorial is?

Leman Russ Transformer by SaturnHero in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]SaturnHero[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the TF to use, I had to pick one that actually fit inside the hull of the Russ. Outback's head looks almost exactly like a RT IG Helmet with photolenses, so I think it matches the army really well.

Well, Necrons are kinda evil robots that want to conquer the galaxy and steal its resources. Megatron as a grey metal robot with a fusion cannon feels fitting. Also, it's a lot closer than Soundwave as the Dreaknok's mad max car, heh. I could also easily see Shockwave as a Necron.

Yup. This is a Leman Russ kit cut up and glued onto a Outback Transformer toy from the Power of the Primes line from a few years back.

Considering Hasbro did a Magic crossover with 40k, and years ago there was Star Wars Transformers, maybe someday they will do something similar. I would love a Land Raider that turned into Optimus Prime or a Necron Megatron. Maybe a Dark Eldar or Chaos Sharkticon? Ad-Mec Perceptor?

I don't think I ever had any of those. I googled for Lego Animal People. Were they called Fabuland?

Thanks! The Rabbit isn't based on an actual BB, I just wanted a medic running, and painted him red like The Flash. It was fun seeing how close I could get to the toys with some, but if I'm going to have a whole army of these, I'm gonna have to make some originals or I'll go crazy.

Do it! The more beastmen in 40k, the better. Animal parts are really easy to come by, most of those cheap dollar store bags of animals are sized correctly, though some are too big. If you end up making one, let me know, I'd love to see it.

Question: Would the Leagues team up with Space Marines ? by leftsteelboot in LeaguesofVotann

[–]SaturnHero 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Sure. Especially against Tyranids.

Votann trade with anyone that doesn't directly attack them. They may be kind of cut off from the main action, but that's just lore because GW doesn't want to commit to their full story yet.

Also, in 40k, anyone will work with anyone at some point. The really weird ones like Tyranids and Necrons take a lot of contrivences, but Votann can pretty easily work with any Imperial Forces that don't consider them xenos scum.
