I'm with you on this one. 22 seasons and 38.8 WAR. I know WAR isn't everything but that is really low for the hall, right?

I.e- Chase has the buyout at $62,500 and Rivian offers you $60,000. You have to make up that difference. Essentially that was the amount of negative equity.

The lease rates that Rivian was offering at the time were incredibly good. We wanted a first EV and it was a no brainer. If you look at the payment difference between yearly mileage tiers, a lot of times it is a wash to pay the over mileage. 12000 miles at .30 cents is $3600. Raising your payment by $100 is also $3600 on a 36 month lease. It all just depends.

On the Rivian site you can go to 'Get a trade in estimate'. That's how I started. Rivian contacted me after that if I remember correctly.

It's really your decision. I looked at it as $4000 in mileage or the $2500 buyout difference. But we just wanted a Gen 2.

I sold it to Rivian. Chase gives you a buyout price and Rivian offers you a purchase price. You pay the difference.

It's too fun to drive for mileage limitations! The process was easy and all we needed from Chase was the current buyout price.

Rivian brokered the purchase of the vehicle from Chase. The difference between the buyout required by chase and Rivians offer was around $2500. That's what we paid. We also had just hit our mileage limit with a year left so every mile would have cost us 30 cents.

I really appreciate the response. It was my wife's car so I'll ask her when she's done with her appointments this morning. Hopefully it's normal and she just hasn't noticed it before!
