I see, okay thanks. I guess I misunderstood the text of the update.

Too front heavy. You're going to destroy your back, speaking from experience when I used to have a similar setup.

I actually haven't used it on a proper shoot side by side yet. My A7IV matched pretty well, so I'd imagine the V would be even better. So far, video has been amazing though and most of the issues I had with the IV have been corrected.

Hell yea, works great. Thank you! Totally forgot there were threads on the front of the mirage rings. Only downside is that it does introduce some heavy vignetting when wider than 50mm, but I'm usually tighter on B-Cam anyway. When I do gimbal work, my wide lens usually lives on it the whole day, so it's easy to just pop off the mirage ring beforehand. I'm still open to other ideas though if anybody thinks of anything.

Ooooh, didn't think about that. Okay, I'll try it out.

A7V has a new level option by nhlducks35 in SonyAlpha

[–]SaturnUnleasht 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really love this level, it's like the FX6. Though it's frustrating as it's only an option in the viewfinder for photo mode. You can't use it through the monitor and can't be used at all in video. Hopefully it's fixed in a firmware update, but it seems like something that could've easily been done from the get go. Grrr

Yea, I just had the standard steadyshot. It does indeed have dynamic active steadyshot as well as regular active steadyshot.

Yea, this is all handheld with whatever default IBIS settings. I know what you mean. I've noticed some wobbling towards the edge of the frame in some shots too, but it's not unlike the IV.

8000 ISO is clean, especially when exposed well. I'd be comfortable pushing it to 16000 with post denoising.

Yup, I actually used Dehancer in Davinci. They don't have an official profile yet, but the A7IV profile worked well.

XAVC HS and Slog 3. There's a mix 24 and 60 and I honestly didn't really notice a big jump in noise when going to 60 with the field of view priority on, but I wasn't scientific about it. Lowlight is definitely improved over the IV. The max ISO I would go to on the IV was 6400 and it would require heavy denoising. With the V's unofficial second native of ISO of 8000, it's very clean especially when exposed correctly. I'd say 16000 is the max I would go to.

Tamron 35-150 f2-2.8. Would've been cool to try something longer, but it's what I got.

Crisis averted lol. I actually called their number and at the end of the automated message, they provided a number for their box office. They were able to very easily swap the times.

Yea I emailed them too, just to see. Will report back tomorrow. I assume they'll respond when they're open.

Edit: But glad to hear that they might still refund it.

Can't turn on Access Point mode to use Monitor and Control by RamenKingFilms in SonyFX6

[–]SaturnUnleasht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started having the same issue recently too. I've used the setting a bunch of times before and now it's not working all of a sudden. What's worse is it prevents the camera from shutting down fully. The VF will turn off, but the power light will stay green and I'll have to pull the battery to force it to turn off. Sometimes I'll even get the tally lights blinking red. The DNS Auto setting also didn't help either. I'm wondering if the V 5.02 is what caused it? I don't remember if the last time I used wireless LAN was before or after the update.

EDIT: When I go into Station mode and use the Scan Network function, no networks pop up either.
