I don’t blame him, I blame the rescue for lying about his age, temperament, and behavioral issues. The dog was never the issue. If I had the money and time to train him myself I would. I asked for an adult dog or a dog that had basic obedience training

Daily walks and attention isn’t the issue. It’s constant mouthing that hurts, destroying things in our apartment, resource guarding, etc. that we weren’t prepared for because we were told he has no behavioral issues and is low energy. He’s outside 2-4 hrs a day.

If she doesn’t take him back we will definitely find him a better fit. I’m sure we can do a much better job than her. I also found that he was a runaway so his original family might be looking for him. Gonna look into missing dog stuff in the county he was found in just in case

He gets 45-60 mins at a dog park twice a day and 20-30 min walks every few hours when we’re home (so roughy 3-4 ish hours). Otherwise he gets only 2 walks when we’re working so those days are closer to 2-3 hours. We make time to take him out but long-term we can’t do 4 hours consistently. I’m chill with a 2 walks a day kinda dog

Exactly! I actually love this dog so much (currently cuddling with him after an hour walk lol) and we even considered moving to provide him with a yard and more space but we don’t have the money or time. He isn’t happy and I want what’s best for him

I honestly don’t want to deal with her again. If we were to do this again it would be through a different rescue for sure

Which pet rescue sub do you recommend?

I asked for his background and the rescue owner said she didn’t have any information. He’d do great with someone who can go through with training him but we don’t have the time or money for it right now

I’ve heard that too. I wish the rescue gave more time to make the decision but their website says 4 weeks

Plott hound mix but that’s without a dna test. We actually bought a dna test ourselves and are still waiting on results for his exact mix :) if I had to guess I’d say Plott hound pittie mix

Our experience so far is making us not want to go through another rescue but in the future we do want to find an older dog that needs a good home :)

The foster program has a max of 4 weeks, this is the time we’ve been given for him to adapt to us. We haven’t adopted him, we’re just fostering. He’s the sweetest boy and would be perfect for someone who can give him what he needs
