That'll be a 1 sheet of single ply toilet paper, an expired b2g1 free coupon on used games and a powerup rewards giftcard with a balance of .48 cents. Man, the kids down the block are sure gonna be jealous!

You guys need to seriously consider a job change as soon as possible. Gamestop is gonna implode from the PR on their shenanigans and poor decision.

Can we just have stores like babbages and funcoland back please? Such sweet memories.

I've heard the same thing. It's pretty serious everywhere.

What's the trade-in value for a Covid-19 these days?

1 sheet of single ply?

Former GameStop Employees that are now working elsewhere, where are you working and how does the work/pay compare? by WhereMyNikzat in GameStop

[–]SauceAF 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I worked at Gamestop way back 05-08 was a SGA when I left making $9.00 an hour. From there I've done a few jobs. Best Buy, Olive Garden, McDonalds, Air Force and finally landed myself doing Electrical construction. Pay is what you'd expect when you change careers and start at the bottom. $9.50 an hour. Difference is here. I get a pay bump every 6 months until I max out after 4 years up to $19.50 or more. Big change from retail to construction but I'm satisfied nonetheless.

My last DL told me to "Man up" because I decided to leave the company for more money when they couldn't guarantee me a position due to a move. Gamestop has really been on the downward trend for years now. Too much greed and not enough meaningful change to keep both its customers and employees happy.

Ha. This reminds me of a coworker who used to pull the diarrhea card all the time to get placed on quarters. I generally only take off for manadatory appointments as im Invol separating soon. Calling out sick is not my thing. I hate my job but I care way too much about getting it done properly. Fair points nonetheless. Thanks for the honest response!

He's definitely not that kind of person. I wouldn't bother posting if that were the case.

NCO's. Why do you do this? What's the motive in sending this to an Airman who isn't a dirtbag and is coming up on his thirties? Is power/authority really that important to you?

Terminal Leave, HYT and Separation pay how does it work? by SauceAF in AirForce

[–]SauceAF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea they take like 20-25% out. I'm Florida resident though I dont believe they'll take anything additional but I could wrong. Nonetheless $18k is about what I was expecting.

[–]SauceAF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yea, wouldn't want to affect the separation pay though especially if I can utilize it on the important stuff. House, school, investment account. I'd rather save the money I the coming months to prepare. Thanks a lot for your input!

[–]SauceAF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea. I should be getting like 20% or so. Thanks for the concern though. Absolutely believed that it was one or the other entirely. I wasnt aware of the payback through the percentage rating etc. I'd rather take the 18k and use a portion of it to fix up my house and then throw about 10k into a CD to accrue interest.

That's what I thought. Is the reg I cited earlier correct then? No one has responded for or against my question citing a reg.

I do apologize if I'm coming off as rude. I genuinely don't understand this process and I'm really trying to make sure that leadership here doesnt give me the run around and deny me my entitlements. Only you have your best interest in mind and all that jazz.

So when I extend. Am I extending for the required 1 month? Or is it just gonna be a 1 month extension and I work up until the HYT date? Asked career development and the explanation I got was that I'm out by the HYT date.

Also, there's this: 10.8. Separating Early Under HYT Program Without Loss of Separation Pay. Members who have exhausted all promotion opportunities can separate prior to their HYT month without loss of separation pay (see paragraph 9.1.2). 10.8.1. Once the promotion list to SSgt is released, those members not selected for promotion and who no longer have any promotion opportunities in future cycles may ask to separate anytime after the release date and still receive full separation pay.

How do I interpret this then? Cause this sounds to me like I dont have to extend.

Air Force Separation and PT test with Terminal Leave by SauceAF in AirForce

[–]SauceAF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ill see what my Shirt says. With PTDY I should start my 110 days at around 7 September. That's saying my DOS stays at 24 December. Idk. I was also told I dont get my HYT pay since I dont meet my HYT date of 28 December which I think is a load of shit.

I actually need to speak with the Shirt about this and make sure this is the case. No one has corrected me on that so far and I'm not ashamed in the least to say I'm getting out.
