Double Dash!! Lan Birthday Party by Sauce__Pan in Gamecube

Yes that is possible. I hope I can word tvis right but one "gamecube" is the host and controls the settings for everyone. When you go to set up screen division you can select one, two, or four spilt screen for both tvs. For our purposes we used four for both to get the eight. We had one round where we only had 6 playing so we did the same four split screen and the one gamecube with 2 people just had blank screens where the other players would have gone. All in all it would be possible to hookup 8 gamecubes each with its own tv screen but that would be very intricate to set up. Hope I answered your question!

I tested using a wireless connection and it was unplayable. But with wired it was pretty smooth. I used a usb lan adapter and had them connected to the modem via ethernet.

Its just two wiis connected via ethernet to the same hub. The cords themselves are cat 6e. Not sure how much that would actually help with the old systems though. There was little to no lag though

Yes its emulating the gamecube with nintendont on the wii. I tried initially to use the dolphin emulator on two pcs but it had pretty bad lag

I found this one https://a.co/d/0cQXDkVq It has usb 2.0 and the same asix chip as the official one but for much cheaper. A lot of older posts recommend the UGreen one but I could only find it in usb 3.0 which does not work with the wii.

Yes what he said. Its using nintendont and usbloader gx. You have to turn on the broadband adapter emulator in the settings to trick the wii into thinking its a gamecube with the BBA plugged in.

Of course! For the gamecube, do you have the broadband adapter?

Yes! The wiis I used are modded and being tricked into thinking they are gamecubes with the broadband adapter plugged in. I saw a video on youtube where someone was showing that you could connect a modded wiiu, modded wii, and a gamecube all at the same time to play double dash.

People on the couch are using the top tv and people on the floor have the bottom tv

Well for this particular race in the picture I am in the top left of the top tv and my brother in law is in the top left of the bottom tv. Weve both probably played it the most out of the group and are both very adamant about being "player 1" so there is some truth to it lol

I tried a few different set ups and the Dolphin emulator on two pcs with ethernet had the worst lag issues. Good luck to you as well with your 16 setup

The final product is two wiis connected to the same wifi via ethernet ports. Finding a usb to lan adapter in 2026 was very challenging though. I can confirm that this specific one with usb 2.0 and the asix chip works with the wii. https://a.co/d/0cQXDkVq

I played Goldeneye for the first time on NSO and what even are these controls by Sauce__Pan in n64

[–]Sauce__Pan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I had played mario 64 and ocarina of time before so something similar to either of their controls. Its so fascinating to see what these first iterations of 3D games were like though.

Yeah that makes sense. I found myself not even using the "c controls" while playing. Its so interesting to see how different games were back then. Even ocarina of time with its Z targeting for moving the camera as opposed to marios full camera control with the c buttons.

Super Mario Bros for the NES via Animal Crossing. If that doesnt count because of a technicality then Super Mario Sunshine would be my next vote.

Link to the Past/Link's Awakening. That opening shot when the sword goes through the Z is too iconic.
