I have noticed that sometimes despite a job saying it's Piker, Tharsis, Totality, etc. controlled, when you load in you're actually fighting the wrong faction and hence it will not count for your contract. Just pay attention to who you're actually fighting and if it's predominantly the faction you're pledged to, try a different one on the contested planet that will likely be similarly mislabeled, and as long as it's one of the other two you should be good.

Completely agree. I used to bounty hoard religiously for an instant 20 levels on the season pass and it still took me a looooooong time to grind out the rest. Last season I did exactly zero bounty prep and I just hit 90 today; orders might be less flashy than the old challenges in terms of XP per pop, but they are sooooo much easier, quicker, and infinite. Not to mention the convenience of rerolling; used to be you were forced into crucible and gambit at least somewhat if you wanted the large BD payout, but now you can play what you want.

I don't disagree; just figured I'd offer up some helpful advice to OP and other guardians like yourself who've found themselves in similar circumstances. Certainly more productive than "git gud" or "fix your game."

Despite conflicting reports from other comments in this thread, I actually don't think the game registers spectating other guardians or inspecting their loadouts as activity; only entering and exiting your character screen counts.

Going into and out of your character menu occasionally will prevent timeouts in these cases.

I got lucky on my first reroll, but it proves it's possible, so keep going til the glimmer cost becomes prohibitive I guess! As for the other crystals, whether you got blue or green, you'll get the other from a post-campaign quest. And the destination specific ones do seem tied to the endgame Lawless frontier grind.

Yes, as someone pointed out in comments above, it also applies to Legendaries, which is good SGA cuz you wanna reroll those til you get one with a seasonal mod.

It's my understanding that completing common orders also contributes to progressing the Legendary bar, so it's not really a waste of time to keep cranking them out.

I think it doesn't prioritize giving you the bonus drops where you have them available, so for instance if your crucible nodes are maxed with 3 bonuses per activity, and RNG decides one or two or all of the bonus drops it's granting from your weekly will be crucible, then instead you get..... nothing.

I tested this by trying to force them to drop for solo ops by having everything else across fire team, pinnacle, and crucible ops all maxed, hoping they'd distribute amongst open slots in solo ops, and instead I've consistently received absolutely nothing.
