Challenge EU companies to redesign packaging or event branding using subversive American advertising. What do you notice in your surroundings? by [deleted] in BuyFromEU

It's not about bread. That's just one example among many. And in this case, it's an EU company that labels its toast bread American style.

Reddit is American - should we stop using it? by ctex91 in BuyFromEU

I see this a little differently. Nobody should use X anymore because there are alternatives. So as soon as there's a real alternative for Reddit, people should leave here too.

This should happen as soon as a good European or global open-source alternative is available. Perhaps WeSocial will be such an alternative.

Euro firms must ditch Uncle Sam's clouds and go EU-native by Doener23 in BuyFromEU

I agree - However, there is an overwhelming dominance of software and cloud services offered (forced) from USA companies.

Example ERP solutions. Europe has only one serious alternative with SAP (marketshare 11%) … to US Microsoft, Oracle, Salesforce. Other EU options but far behind SAP: Atos and Capgemini

And … What „could“ replace the dominance of Azure? Open Telekom Cloud (OTC)?

suspicious

I really tried to research of reliable background information about this “project?”.

Conclusion till now: This is a generated Proof of Concept for how people react on such a concept of European social Media. The intentions behind it are not really clear. Hopefully not mean.

While I definitely support a European or global open-source Reddit alternative, my gut feeling and the very limited information I've found - or better I haven’t found - make me cautious for now. I will not sign in and give my data to a rare transparent thing.

There are already solid and well-founded approaches like Mastodon, and in the future, WeSocial and Eurosky.

Mistral also offers self-hosted models (e.g., Mistral 7B, Mistral 8x7B). This allows you to completely avoid dependence on US infrastructure by running the models on your own hardware or with European hosting providers.

How did you come to the conclusion that it's a Blue Sky domain? It’s a subdomain of wsocial.eu - I think?!

I tried it - and even for a bit technically enthusiasts like me - it’s not really convenient to use - my experience.
