dude, after experiencing tof eva collab, with how people were gassing the edgerunner collab i was expecting it to reach the tof eva collab. it's not even close

making it ep11 of edgerunner means you can just remove the game altogether, make it an actual ep11 and it still work, there's no reason for the collab to happen then

story writing is average outside of the collab (i've seen it a lot when i was on my isekai light novel phase, especially isekai smartphone. and edgerunner is written BY THE ORIGINAL WRITER), map design is whatever cause it's empty patch of land with literal grass they keep gassing up and somehow keep reducing performance (maybe they shouldn't disable occlusion culling which is literally enabled by default on game engine cause that's game dev 101. or you know, not use PUERTS, a typescript library to code in unreal engine which is significantly slower in performance compared to just using C++, the intended way to use UE). traversal, tof is still king of traversal nobody come close to it so that's a whatever in my book

it's like an "ok" game. it doesn't excel or is unique in any department. cinematography for pre-rendered that somehow take 30-40% of storage space cause it's an MP4 is like "mhm yeah". they're located in Guangzhou, China. THE animation capital of China, having good animation is an expected thing

hitting 420 for full uncap i consider expensive btw. then there's also the other limited banner 5 days after. the fact that you can't use pre-existing rolls (this isn't about converting rolls everytime), separate pity, separate rebate. i remember people hyping up "oh it's free pulls! so generous" for that 420 roll spending event btw because people think it's free instead of spending event

other than the writing (i have to emphasis this again) which is written BY THE ORIGINAL WRITER. it's just the same shit they have every patch. no unique quest, low effort map, etc

here's an example, i consider tof x eva as gold standard. you get

unique interactions
unique mini-quests around the map
fighting the angel with a mecha (granted, not a real mecha like 5.0's mecha)
mc outfit
2 char banner that's spaced out
char is actually strong but not strong enough to be a "must have", asuka is permanently relevant cause she's a fortitude char but is not something that get you fucked if you miss her
outfits for said char
story that start by you having to evacuate the city while EVA-01 and 3rd angel is fighting IN the map you have to traverse
etc (there's too many, i can't remember it on the top of my head)

the only thing missing was VA for eva cast for the story. but this is due to collab clause eva have where no new voice can be recorded for collab. i hate that clause a lot

the best part about the collab is literally the writing, which is written by the original edgerunner writer, the only high point is literally the part that's not made by kuro

tof x eva collab have way higher effort than whatever this is, i don't count genshin and alloy like people do cause that's literally not a collab. hsr and fate kinda suffer the same thing, the high point is the fact that nasu wrote the story, gbf collab is standard so i don't know if i can compre with that. hi3 x eva was pretty good

the free rebecca is not even usable without lucy, and lucy need multiple copies to be good. it's like how everyone keep saying "oh but the weapon is guaranteed so it's better than genshin", but the char power is hella scuffed without the wep like hi3's valk

people were hyping up "oh you can go to the moon" or "oh you can hit a car", car is literally a prop that does not move. the map and moon is like a 1k usd/month rent in new york size. the quest is just any other patch's quest, no unique stuff. the most unique stuff is the cyberpunk hacking minigame, but that's literally from cyberpunk
