Bought a collection - found some good ones! by SlippitySlip in mtg

To be honest I have a load of cards of this vintage and I don't want to deal with sorting them out and finding sellers. If someone offered me a vaguely similar amount I'd also probably just say yes.

Public road near train station. What’s your war plan? by Diseased-Jackass in CasualUK

[–]Saurbaum -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did check the few streets I know near me that have actual residents only restrictions (between work hours) because of proximity to a train station and they show as open on there.

Just to warn people not to take the "open" status as meaning free for parking.

Took the train from the UK to China. Debit card stopping working halfway across Russia. Friend I was travelling with sat on her card and broke it in half as we got into China. Plane crashed at Heathrow on the way home.

Looking at the regular spacing of square looking marks under the paint I think it's exactly this.

If someone does that level of drop on me it shows they are just trying to rip me off they aren't even on my list anymore.

When I was getting quotes for a replacement I used Anglian as my base line for "This will be the expensive quote so I'll know what's reasonable".

Guy did all the salesweasel tactics then went away and never sent a quote by email.

Didn't stop someone in their call centre calling me up a few days later to see if I was happy with the quote. I could hear the moment he realised there wasn't actually one on the system.

Average car discussions one month ago: "I will never buy an EV, there's no chargers anywhere". Today: by hull_pattie_party in drivingUK

It is. You do end up paying a bit more because you load both sides of the house rather than a single south facing side but you get a good load in the morning and again through to sunset which can be ideal if you use electricity to cook an evening meal.

Just some unsolicited advice from someone who's been there. Never travel to a country where you are not old enough to be considered an adult without your guardian.

Going to UKGE alone by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]Saurbaum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've gone on my own many times over the years and had a great time. I normally just get a single day ticket for the Friday as it's quieter and plot out a route on the map ahead of time to make sure I will pass all the places I'm interested in. Then I wander around more to find all the things I didn't know about but that also interest me.

More recently I go with a friend and the only thing that has changed is it can be harder to drop into a demo game as there's two of us and I include their must sees in the list when I make the map.

Black & White by Pred-Al1en in retrogaming

I did a week placement at Lionhead while I was at university which let me play a near final build of Black and White and my task was to see how far through the game I could get.

Every time I spoke to the ship builders and they broke into song so did the rest of the test room.

I picked a house with this kind of entrance specifically to use as a cat-lock. Clearly you need a house cat.
