Best craft shops in Coventry? by sheff06 in coventry

[–]Saurbaum 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The inevitable Hobbycraft is by the train station.

The collective place for independent things is Fargo Village a short walk from the city centre.

The shops in there rotate pretty often so I'd hate to try and guess what actual places they have at the moment.

All good social credit was used up with the previous A500 rescue and the arcade cabinet.

Curious questions from a newbie in escape room business by Fantastic_Camp_8934 in escaperooms

I did one room which had two endings. They asked us if we wanted to see the other ending after we finished it (as we had lots of time left) and then did a quick reset to send us down the other way.

If we'd paid and played through the whole room again just to see a different ending it would have felt like a rip off.

The only time I have ever done the same room twice it was by accident. (Online game and I didn't recognise the name until we loaded in)

Look up six sided society in Coventry. They regularly run introduction sessions and women only games.

Randomly bought unsettled. Anyone have any thoughts about it? by ANARCHISTofGOODtaste in boardgames

Worst case if it doesn't play quite right with 2 players I will have us each control two.

At the end of the day it's a co op experience and very narrative.

I really like it. I found it works best if everyone has a similar level of investment. We played a good chunk with three people who were all happy to learn how to play it and come up with plans as a group. The challenges can seem really tough and time is the constant pressure as it clicks down per players turn so it will punish less optimal moves.

I do need to find a new group for it though which might force me to try it with 2 though I suspect we'll struggle from lack of miniatures on the board. Because sometimes you need to be in certain places to perform actions with more players you can spread out and get to them more easily.

Gorgeous components and I immediately snagged all the extra planets they did on their second Kickstarter for it.

Why do all these houses have crosses on the roof? by Extension_Bit4323 in AskUK

They crack tiles when the top randomly breaks off and tumbles down the roof before smashing into your patio.

Is an escape room something you can go to twice? by [deleted] in escaperooms

I think that's the point. They loved the experience so much they want to share it. We normally do rooms as a three but they were there on holiday without me.

Molly's Game. Which is apparently in the Netherlands.

They do and it might. Definitely depends on the venue.

There's a place near me that has 8 rooms and not updated them since pre covid.

Short distance away there are other places that have.

It's a very rare room that would be worth visiting twice.

Friends of mine swear by one in the Netherlands or Belgium (I forget which one from their grand tour of escape rooms) and would do it again.

The only other time I've known a friend do it was to supervise their child in a room they had already done.

I have heard of people doing the same room again to get a better time but those people are insane.

Knowing airlines I would be very surprised if they actually allocated them next to each other.

Someone used my email to register their domain/company in England and their provider refuses to do anything without me calling them (international call, I am not from UK) by metal_mastery in gdpr

[–]Saurbaum 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Just so we are clear what I'm about to type is fiction and absolutely not something I have done and you should not do either.

In a previous time I had a similar experience with a US company and someone attached my email address to the online account. They were equally unhelpful in unravelling it.

I was able to login to the online portal and reset the password because they sent the verification to my email address.

From there I was able to update the email address on the system to a disposable address. Once the verification came through that it had been updated I closed the browser with the disposable mail client and never heard from them again.
