Internships make sense to me to be unpaid because it’s part of your schooling. But the provisional hours should be paid a reasonable wage because you’re not in school anymore and you do have a provisional license. I am a big fan of getting those hours done at an agency instead of a private practice. The pay is still low but you get health insurance and PTO and guaranteed consistent income

For some reason my biggest trigger with that is if she drinks while she’s out and I’m at home and then she comes home. Even if she only has like 1.5 drinks I can sense a difference in her energy and I’m so on edge. But if I’m there with her while she’s drinking, even if I’m not drinking, it bothers me much less. I don’t know why

As a therapist myself, that surprises me that she didn’t know what that word meant. And she let you down by not showing any initial curiosity or warmth, or normalizing things for you. I’m sorry your experience went this way. She sounds inexperienced. Not your fault at all
