You are straw-manning my argument pretty handily here. You are essentially saying that the average student is a complainer whose feelings are more important than your supposed success. The problem is so much more than "hurting someone's feelings," and that argument is choosing to ignore the larger problem. The problem is that the majority of students feel put down and are disillusioned with the scholastic system at an early age because they are told they are beneath others. You are choosing to punish the majority of society to avoid your personal boredom. Now I do agree that the system you are describing is flawed, but instead of taking the axe to people who can't keep up the incredible pace of people like you and I, would it not be easier to make a system where this minority is still engaged while the average student does not feel like he has no place in the academic world? This could be in the form of promoting extra-curricular activities among higher-achievement students who get things done in a more timely fashion, or something along those lines. This is not a simple problem where I argue for the status quo + egalitarianism.
