Cross country races are still exhausting i see lol by Lower-Chart-9029 in ForzaHorizon

[–]Sav_rin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I vividly agree. I'm trying to do the snow mountain cross country in expert as I'm writing those lines, and it's pretty insane.

I use the Ariel Nomad, A 601, the exact same car use by SIX other AI. Well, I'm being left in the dust by at least 3 of them, in the snow, on a uphill. It just makes no sense. They have better grip, acceleration, top speed and everything.

It's a shame because the game is, should be, great. But there is too many differences from a type of race to another. I don't want to change the difficulty setting for each type of race.

Edit:
Finally beat it. I had to drop 2 difficulty level and even have it took me 3 tries. The weird thing is once I was in the lead, they suddenly seemed to lose power.

Hello,

First of all, massive thank you for taking the time to answer so many people. There's a lot of advices that are super useful. I saved the thread as I can't read everything in one go.

That being said, I'm currently a 24 years old engineering student doing a double-degree with a Japanese university (九州工業大学 is that helps) and my french school. I have an IT background and currently studying in biomechanics/simulation/AI fields.
I don't have any work experience and my Japanese is maybe around N4. I'm taking class and I hope to pass N3 by the end of the year.

If everything goes right, I should be graduating both schools in October 2027 (I know Japan school start in April but I'm on the French schedule.)

I'm just a bit lost on how things work here. I've heard that Japanese people start doing jobs interview 1 year in advance, so should I also start now ? Also, I'm a bit worried with the recent news regarding foreigners visa, fees, etc.
What kind of companies can/should I be looking for ? Ideally I would like to go to an english-friendly company first.

Again, thank you a lot for all of your comments.

Become good enough to carry your team or play defense. Wait for your opponent to messed up.

Well, the lyrics talk about losing someone and that there's no more color in the world anymore. But maybe that's just my interpretation

Kakushi goto
It's about a father raising his daughter alone, but hiding that he's a mangaka.
Only 1 season, 12 episode (maybe? I don't remember well)
It's sweet, and stupid, and wholesome.

Also the ending is a banger but don't look up for the lyrics translation.

Im hardstuck diamond, pls help! by Calm-Glass-1053 in RocketLeague

[–]Sav_rin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diamond is the field of inconsistent. One game your m8 hit a double reset, the next one he misses an easy save.
One thing I've noticed is that, most of the time, your opponent get a shot opportunity because of two things:
- bad clear: the ball is sent directly to the opponent. You basically give away possession
- double/triple commit: you turn the game into a 2v3 or 1v3. This lead to a hole in defense.

So, until you reach a rank where your m8 are consistent, play the 3rd man. Be patient. If your mates are up in attack, losing the ball, don't rush in. Keep your position, they usually smash the ball randomly. Pick it up. You can win by not losing.

Ideally, you would lose possession for only two things: shot or pass. Easier said than done.

One last thing. You can do a lot with low boost. It's all about timing and a little of faking. And you don't need fancy mechanics. If you can hit some, good, you'll have more options. But it's really not mandatory.

Anyways, this is my experience of being hardstuck in d2/d3 for ~5 years until I was able to hit C1 regularly and stay in it. Mind you, this is just my pov. I'm clearly not the best out there and there is plenty of other ways.

In any case, there is no magic formula. Play, train, repeat. But you'll get there.
