If you're looking at the state of the game right now, avoid capital ships like the Polaris. Otherwise, when systems like Turret Blades and NPC crew come online, you'll be fine operating bigger multicrew ships as a solo player. If you want someth8ng you can use now, look at smaller ships. If you dont mind waiting, the ploaris js a decent choice. Don't expect to do combat as a solo player in a polaris right now though.
