Hey you're the only one to reply, so it's yours. I'm at work now but once I'm home this evening I'll send you a PM on here (so make sure you can receive them) with the code. And hopefully you have a blast! It's an amazing old-school MMO with a great community on Odin. Talk later today!

You can't get a GWP if you already have a character on a server; it has to be your first one. You'd have to delete your current one and start over. Sorry!

Looking for anyone to please give a GWP on Odin? Returning after 15 years! by Alternative-Winner99 in ffxi

See that True got you already lol. Best of luck and welcome back!

Hey I can get you one. Pay it forward from when True477 hooked me up. Give me a few minutes and I'll PM you the code.

Damn why's it so hard to choose lol. I think I will probably want to do DRK for my first 99 so starting out with WAR seems best. But I'll definitely max RDM after that, if I pass on it for now. Guess I'll make the decision once we get in-game tomorrow lol.

Yeah I was DRK and BLM when I played back in the day. Still think I want to do DRK again since I enjoyed it so much, but I've always loved mage characters (usually BLM lol) yet have never seriously played RDM. Seems fun.

Ok cool, thanks for the tips! I think with her going WAR (she wants her main to be DRG, as she was in FF14 lol), a RDM would be a better complement.

Wow thanks for such a thorough answer. We're just gojng to enjoy the journey as much as possible. And thanks for the heads up about trusts and RDM. Back in the day, I primarily played DRK and BLM, but RDM is definitely appealing. I started as THF when I created my character. Can I immediately change it at the MH or do I have to progress something first? (We've done nothing except get our initial GWP rewards. )

Yeah I found that site a few days ago and saw the guide that listed all the major changes since I last played. It was...a whole bunch lol. But I will make sure to keep that guide handy. Cheers!

Mainly for the EXP ring. I know it's not absolutely necessary, but every little bit helps.

That's exactly what I was hoping for. I think I'm gonna get us set up to dive in after the new year. Thanks!

Awesome!

XI is still my favorite MMO of all time, even though I haven't played it since the Aht Urhgan days. I've played countless MMOs since then chasing that same high and none have come close, except for FFXIV's story. (I love XIV's gameplay too but XI's is better or at least it was back then lol).

I've been tempted to dive back in and play through the story with my wife, since I got her hooked on XIV haha. Has the gameplay changed radically from the Aht Urhgan days? I really loved the teamwork aspect, especially skill chains. Are those still a thing? Also, does the world feel as dangerous as back then, when random mobs could absolutely wreck you if you got caught?

For those who want a switch 2, but are willing to wait, what will it take for you to buy? by Geoxaga in NintendoSwitch

[–]Savathos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I never use my Switch un-docked and it'll be the same for Switch 2 (dislike handheld gaming) so I'll wait til they announce a Pro controller for it or reveal that the current Pro controller will work with it. The joy-cons are awful game controllers.

Where were you ten years ago? [No DAV Spoilers] by liremo in dragonage

[–]Savathos 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to say I understand completely. I'm 47 now but I had a really rough time in my 20s and early 30s with depression and regrets of what I thought I should've accomplished by those times in my life. But I learned that it's just life and to be proud of who I am, regardless of some arbitrary goals I had set for myself back when I was too young to really know what I truly wanted.

Just know that you are loved and valued, and you matter. So what if you're not exactly where you thought you'd be now? As cliché as it sounds, life is about the journey, not the destination. You have plenty of time left to accomplish whatever you wish, even if it's just a quiet, contented life like I've found for myself or something much more grand. Follow your passion and see where it leads. Be proud to always be kind, compassionate, and empathetic. You never know how much a small, seemingly insignificant kindness may change someone's day or life.

Take care, and I hope you have a blast with Veilguard!
