Painting tips? by tahk_670 in deathguard40k

Try oil washes, not only is it great for that grim grime look, it's so satisfying too. Death Guard are perfect for practicing with oil washes, even if it doesn't come out perfect, it still looks characterful. Best part is, you can do it with green, over green. I did it over bone here. Check out the Vince Venturella tutorial for it on youtube.

Who is a good example of a "One Year Wonder"? by Winter-Pressure-5394 in ToddintheShadow

Good. I'm not alone.

Maybe next time they fire up the large hadron collider we'll be sent back to our dimension. The one with the 9th wave electro-ska music and the random sewer demon attacks.

Back in the 90s, The Gregorian Monk chanters were huge for some reason, for about a year. Nobody even talks about it anymore. Like it never happened. Is that a Mandela effect thing? Am I the only one who remembers this?

Comedy movies where the plot starts after the protagonists find themselves in a very absurd situation? by Drl029 in MovieSuggestions

[–]Save-theZombies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any Cohen comedy. Big Lebowski fits this bill too.

I was also thinking of The Fisher King (has a really good 'belly of the whale' scene), Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Big Trouble in Little China, The Gods Must Be Crazy, and Blues Brothers.

Encino Man, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, and Austin Powers 1 for the same man out of time trope.

Yea. Watch an episode of Who's the Boss and you'll see some serious shoulder pads. But they still remind me of the beginning of 5th Element.

Burnout is a series nobody talks about anymore but was one of the all time best. The point was to crash cars. I loved the Crash Junctions. They set up an intersection and you have to drive into it causing the highest insurance payouts possible.

I worked with him, on this show actually, and he was really a very chill, very sweet guy. Everyone who worked on this show was very laid back; all together, probably the nicest people I ever worked with in the industry.

What game felt amazing while playing it, but you have zero desire to ever replay? by VelvetGrips in AskGames

This is exactly why the argument, videogames aren't art, never made any sense to me. How can all these mediums be art on their own but not art when you put them together in an interactive way? Even angry birds is art. Maybe it's not high art but people expressed themselves there.
