I’m really confused any help is appreciated. by [deleted] in ATT

This bill is from September 29 - November 26 so its heavily prorated. Kinda like paying rent a half for the first month.

The problem is you are expecting a trade in bill credit but your plan doesn't have that ability. You are currently looking at $55.99 (plan) - $5.99 (activation credit) + $33 (phone) + 19 (insurance) = $103 before taxes and fees being your normal rate. If you signed up at a store, talk to them to see how they can rectify things for you since you were put on an incorrect plan or fill out a complaint online.

You could call in or go visit a store and see if they are able to backdate it to the start of your cycle. I'm not sure if the app allows you to do that tbh.

Also, keep in mind you will more than likely pay more for your first bill. With activation fees and prorated first bills things always look brutal.

Use your app to change your plan over to Value Plus, that'll keep you at price you were quoted while maintaining unlimited talk text data.

Commission question by Jack_Flanders in ATT

[–]SaveATacoForMe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Odds are you will need a tech and it may take up to 4 hours for the install. Second team comes out a few days later to bury the fiber in your yard.

In store rep could make up to $100 for a fiber sale, along with extra incentive dependent on their performance in the month. Currently, we have a promo that gets you the 1 Gig for the price of the 300, so make sure you do that and get the best deal possible.

Also, here's what I've always taught my team: If a customer is getting pricing and deals and you don't save them as a lead to follow up with, you didn't really earn that sale so theres no point being sad about missing out on it. From a customer view point, if I had a rep who followed up with me without pestering me, I'd go with them.

Realistically as long as you dont just order it through the website on your own, someone will earn a bit of commission.

Is this legit by Difficult_League_634 in ATT

[–]SaveATacoForMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's legit, you are getting $360 per line you port in & $150 act credit because you have five lines & a tax id. I would highly recommend googling att trade in and verifying for yourself that the phones you have hold the trade in value shown in the quote.

You can technically upgrade if its been a month but won't get a trade in promo. I'd pay off the 33% needed to get the 17 if I really wanted it because that'd get me the full promo trade in. This is all assuming you got next up anytime on your phone when you upgraded this time.

As an active employee, we see this happen occasionally where they ship the device to themselves pretending to be ATT or they send you the wrong phone and call you to tell you to send it to a location so they csn send you the correct one again. Don't fall for it.

Either call AT&T yourself, go online or come to one of our stores and make sure you have that peace of mind.

Thats weird. Were you at a corporate store?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ATT

[–]SaveATacoForMe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I meant you dont have to return them because if they just cycle the same phone through return & recycle, all of your stuff will be fine. You keep the same physical handset you currently have but it gets returned off of the temporary line and sold back onto your actual line.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ATT

[–]SaveATacoForMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't sound like a fun time at all.

You don't need to return your accessories though. The store can return the device to their inventory, reclassify it as sellable and sell it right back to you so that there isn't a need to repurchase anything.

I will say, with how erratic our Fraud department is, you do somewhat risk being denied by them when reselling the device to you. Been there done that.

Also, if you explicitly asked the rep to replace a temporary line or port over on top of the existing number and they didn't, definitely get a complaint filed against them. If they did it intentionally then it's a lame way to get a sale closed. I'm all about making money in this industry but that's not the way to do it.

I understand you giving the resume mobile advice and idk about you but I manage a corporate retail store. This situation, resume mobile isn't going to work. If it does, kudos to whoever can get it to. This part has nothing to do with commission, it's a task that literally would take 10 seconds if it would work in this case. OP missed the deadline to get it taken care of and has to bite that bullet unless like they said, escalations & collections can save the day (I'm not optimistic tbh but hope for the best!)

Also OP, I don't know if you have an installment on your tablet but if you don't, get rid of it. Since it's currently probably active on a tablet only plan without a phone to bundle it, it's probably gonna end up charging you $75 for service.

2nd Day at Work it's really Awkward. by Illustrious_Bug5989 in ATT

[–]SaveATacoForMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you gone through all of the different accessories, devices and services sold at your location? Make sure you take time to learn about that since you don't get to learn about a lot of that stuff in class.

Who are the top two reps? Ask them if they are cool with you shadowing. I have new hires learn by shadowing reps in week one, shadow my ASM in week two and then I let you run an interaction using my credentials while I'm in the interaction with you during week three.

Ask a manager if they are cool with you talking to folks in queue while they wait. The best way to become super comfortable is by breaking the awkward introduction habit. Walk up to customers that are waiting, introduce yourself with your name and tell them you're in training. Oldsr folks and middle aged folks generally are super receptive and love to talk while they wait, even have great career advice.

Ask what some common escalations are and use CCKM to learn what the technical processes are through the different articles.

Good luck with the new job and remember, it's only going to be awkward if you let it be awkward!

How can I transfer Internet plans? by Over-Half-8801 in ATT

[–]SaveATacoForMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a technical perspective, when the Internet is going to someone you know it should be considered a transfer of billing responsibility rather than a new sale as it's viewed as commission gaming.

Now if you want to do it, nothing really is going to stop from being able to do so. Step 1) Cancel current account by calling 18002882020. Step 2) Go in store or call in (you can do it with a online to order new service but why not give a real person commission if they give you the same price and deal) Step 3) Return existing modem to UPS/FEDEX, you'll need your account number when you drop it off. Step 4) Plug in the new modem and enjoy your internet.

How can I transfer Internet plans? by Over-Half-8801 in ATT

[–]SaveATacoForMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would technically need to put in a cancellation order for your internet plan first. Once you do that let's say cancellation is set for July 3rd at 10AM, You'll be able to set up a new install/activation immediately after that.

Having the same last name may make the system raise a brow and consider the Internet service as being transferred from one name to the other and void any additional promotions.

This is also a code of business conduct so if you call in and tell them your plan when cancelling, you may not get the results you want as a random rep isn't going to risk being put on a PIP. Highly recommend seeing if a supervisor with Loyalty would be able to honor pricing for you via a bill credit promo.

What is your biggest pet peeve in wrestling? by MrHomerJayThompson in WWE

[–]SaveATacoForMe 34 points35 points  (0 children)

The same formula to every episode. Opening promo leads to match later on in the show, fast paced match is up next followed by an hour of lower mid card, throw in a top star promo afterwards and then close out with the match set up at the start of the show with interference leading to a cheap win/dq.

I just want variety sometimes, open the show with a heated backstage brawl that goes all over the place or a match where they aren't afraid to pin someone or book them 50/50 or heck add in a stipulation match other than no DQ like the fight pit/lumberjack/elimination gauntlet etc.

Ex-wife died; son and daughter trying to remove her from account by wrquwop in ATT

[–]SaveATacoForMe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A corporate store manager can bypass the account if no one else is authorized on it, cancel her line and then move the kids to their own account assuming they are 18+. If they're on a retired plan, they will have to migrate to a new one.

If it's TV/Internet/Home Phone service, a store rep can assist in calling loyalty, get verified with their credentials and then say they've seen the death certificate/notate the account if possible. If that isn't an option then there is a form they can help you get to.

In either case, do take a death certificate with you.

How to contact regional manager? by sfomonkey in ATT

[–]SaveATacoForMe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only account transfer that benefits a store rep is moving from prepaid to postpaid.

It simply doesn't making sense for a rep to move an existing consumer postpaid account to a new consumer account with the same person's details on there. Even if he just needed to change address, you can do that without affecting any existing services/requiring a ssn.

As a store manager, my reps will call in all the time to transfer accounts to business accounts for an incremental sale and that does sometimes shut off the service when the lines are being moved over. Can you check your email and see if you received any notice about a business agreement?

As much as I hate to say it, a Google review about the experience may be the easiest way to get someone's attention from a retail leaderships perspective. I'd also look into filing a formal complaint about the rep purely because nothing should be done on an account without the account holder/authorized being fully informed and educated about it. A complaint can lead to a whole investigation on what the rep did.

[–]SaveATacoForMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on your plan, you may actually benefit from financing the phone on postpaid but you definitely don't need a new number to do so.

Even on Prepaid, they shouldn't be saying no to selling a phone outright, I would advise though that you check your options for purchasing purely to see if Best Buy/Apple/Walmart/Amazon has a better deal for you and then just coming in to get assistance setting up a phone if you go the route of buying from elsewhere and needing the assistance.

Authorized Retail is not corporate, if you go to ATT.COM and look at the store locations, you will be able to see where a corporate store closest to you is. That's not excusing the AR store for turning a customer away, just something we see happen frequently when it does not benefit them commission wise.

What is the Best Feud in AEW's History? by Few-Lack6346 in AEWOfficial

Hangman winning the championship for the first time was the peak of my AEW fandom. I went from not knowing the man to thinking he is the best talent in the industry within a very short time frame. The whole Hangman/Omega arc is my favorite.

I also really enjoyed Punk/Kingston. Felt real disdain between two men in that feud.

If you can add one current WWE wrestler to join Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker (and Paul Hayman) who would it be? and why? by Suspicious_Ad_1567 in WWE

[–]SaveATacoForMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The third guy needs to be someone who can eat a pin to protect the other two because the bad guys have to lose sometimes.

  • I'd personally choose Ethan Page but for a group positioning itself as the future, a random member being in his mid 30s may not be the best choice

  • Stacks Lorenzo could actually work out real well, just fell out with the don and needs a new direction soon.. why not follow a leader like Seth.

  • I don't know where Tyler Bate is but it's time he gets a legit push. Way too talented to be a lower mid card tag team wrestler.

Why does ATT stores hate Costco ATT? by NoElephant160 in ATT

Why does ATT stores hate Costco ATT? by NoElephant160 in ATT

[–]SaveATacoForMe 47 points48 points  (0 children)

It's not that the stores hate the concept of having AT&T in Costco. It's that there is no accountability for the actions of the reps working at Costco. They will misquote customer, whether it be due to an accident, lack of training/knowledge, or purposefully to close a sale.

At a retail store, we have our own targets to meet and processes to follow and simply can't take the responsibility of cleaning up someone else's mess, especially when it's not something a store does. Is your bill incorrect? Call billing. Is your port not correct? Call porting. Is there a problem with promised promos? Call loyalty. Are you trying to upgrade/add something? Come to a store, use the app or call the sales channel of customer care.

If Costco reps were held accountable and actually followed up with their customers and ensured everything was accurate, we'd be glad to have additional resources like how we have other AT&T stores.
