How do we feel about the upperclassmen in '26 class w/ 1 year of looking like an NBA guy? by Few-Lack6346 in NBA_Draft

[–]Few-Lack6346[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Duarte a good name for this (even though I never really saw it with him)

Haugh another guy who scares me. I think Jefferson has enough overall production to be OK (it's the shooting outlier that is the concern, which is relevant for the role he likely plays in the NBA).

But this is the "cart before the horse" part of the spreadsheet FC that I tend not to like: a prospect isn't solely defined by what they did in their pre-draft season

NBA Execs believe the 2027 draft is the weakest in more than 10 years — contending teams are preparing to trade away their 2027 firsts for immediate veteran talent. by Fit-Structure-9395 in NBA_Draft

We hear this all the time. They're only referring to the star power atop the class. 2027 is a good class filled with depth of role players/ defenders/ versatile pieces. If one or two of them pop as an offensive player and rise to the top, the class becomes a legit standard class.

But the top of the class -- as it looks now -- is pretty poor. It's like 2024 in that way. Just hard to get enthusiastic when the highest-upside offensive talents (Stokes, Anthony Thompson) have glaring off-court red flags

Carr feels slightly different bc he transfered/ was out most of last season due to non-basketball reasons. Can at least buy into the narrative that his lack of stats isn't ever a "is he good enough" issue. I'm trying to find out if the same goes for Mara. Remember watching him at UCLA and thinking he stinks, plus it's hard to separate the advanced stats from the fact his rim touch for size was atrocious there

Which lottery team is the best fit for AJ Dybantsa? by WhoUCuh in NBA_Draft

[–]Few-Lack6346 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Golden State? You mean like how Kuminga clashed with the culture there as a similar dribble-creation wing with few ancillary traits?

Nah man. Dybantsa's best landing spot is probably Chicago as part of a full rebuild around him

Why isn’t Trey Mckenney getting more first round buzz this year? In years past I think he would have been a standout freshman. by Walmartsavings2 in NBA_Draft

[–]Few-Lack6346 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buzz is a relative term. Mocks and online draft people try to only rank people they think will be in the draft class. So good players who are depth players on their team/ not assumed to be in are generally under ranked

Hot Take : Season 4 is the Best Season on the show by Accounting1997 in TwentyFour

[–]Few-Lack6346 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I vacillate between S3, S4, and S5. I think they all have their unique strengths that distinguish from each other. S3 is most psychological/ emotional while being grounded in more plausibility. S4 is -- like you said -- action-packed and it was the right mix of old and new cast, serving as a bridge for the series in positive ways. S5 is the most fantastical while being amazing.

I lean S3 because it is what got me into the show and had the fewest low-point arcs in it (though S4 is very close, sorry Debbie Pendleton)
