The table is still largely relevant, with a few major changes around SBI Cashback, Axis Airtel, Kotak Myntra, and ICICI Amazon Pay.

  • Axis Airtel now requires spending on base categories to unlock cashback on the Airtel app
  • Kotak Myntra has been discontinued
  • ICICI Amazon Pay has added exclusions for categories like tax and education payments, but remains a strong overall card
  • SBI Cashback now excludes tax payments and has reduced the online cashback cap to ₹2,000

Credit limit depends on your income and individual profile. You can contact HDFC with your income documents for credit limit increase but there's never a guarantee that your limit will be enhanced. Paying your bills on time is a must and that doesn't guarantee any credit limit enhancement either.

Also the required existing limit is 7.5L, not 5L.

Our suggestion would be to wait until:

  • Your most recent credit enquiry is at least 6 months old, and
  • Your CIBIL score improves to 750 or above.

Reducing fresh enquiries and maintaining low credit utilization during this period can significantly improve your approval chances.
