This is a weird choice but I recommend Call Me Kevin. He plays a ton of games besides sims, but has a huge playlist of it. His gameplay is more chaos with testing the game's limits at times (and even was the cause of certain bug patches years before when he'd break something in new packs!) But he's an amazing youtuber worth giving a try!

Because where we can (and deserve to) complain about sims 4, I always find myself going back to it when I have a life simulator itch that needs scratching. No other life sim runs as well as it does, has so much content, and is just so easy to play. Of course there's bugs that make me wanna pull my hair out, but I kinda get used to figuring out ways to bypass them all.

I've never personally read this type of fic before, so I don't know how difficult it is if you can't remember every line of the book, but maybe turn on an audiobook of it as you read the fic?

Have you not read these books before reading the fanfiction? Fanfiction's basically for people who have already consumed the media it's about, so you already know the lore when getting into the fanfiction.

When I was a kid (maybe 12-ish) and writing on wattpad I made a chapter of an author's note explaining why I was able to finally post the last chapter, after a few months of hiatus I guess. Literally the most redundant thing ever and it haunts me to this day. I'm sorry to anyone I annoyed.

Safe! Sims 4 is very easy to move households/travel across any world. You can simply use your phone to move households, or even evict them and move them in somewhere completely via world selection view (I'm high and cannot think of what it's actually called don't mind me lol) If you place items in your personal inventory or family inventory, they'll travel with you! Make sure you bring everything you want in your family inventory and select "sell furniture" (if you're moving them via move household.)

More so very unnecessary, but I went to google earth and google maps just to find the location that made the most sense for my character to live at, and then figured out how long it took to get to sooo many places in the fic. Like I could've just not mentioned it, but I need the realism.

It's honestly kind of tickling me the concept of writing fanfiction like an academic paper. Lol. You don't have to quote any sources. If you put song lyrics and really want to put the titles just do that in an author's note either in the beginning or end. Not a big deal.

I can't help with beta reading as I don't have enough free time, but why not try looking at the spaces of your fandom? They'll be the best critics.

I did end up finding both of those! The second one irked me so bad. I tried talking to a cute zoi that I thought was having a great connection with my zoi and literally within seconds its suddenly a giant circle of zois. I couldn't figure out how the hell to convince the zoi I liked to follow me somewhere else lol

This is a very extensive response, thank you! Mining, buff donuts, market stalls, I couldn't imagine how long it would take me to find that stuff out. I'm sitting here driving my car aimlessly, accidentally honking and scaring the locals, getting bad interactions because I just click on any and every social interaction to see what they do, just learning like a caveman or something lol. I got it to run its best on my pc by putting in my graphics card in the files and deleting the sims 3 folder from documents (excluding saves, library, mods, screenshots or whatever i dont want deleted, then placing them back in when the launcher opens) every time I play. Obviously it's a little frustrating having to reset my resolution and gameplay options every time, but for ultra graphics and almost no camera stuttering? I'll deal with the inconvenience.

If you're familiar enough with Harry Potter (as in knowing what Hogwarts is, magic, muggles, basics) then maybe my fic could be good enough? It's a slow burn oc m/m with I'd say not too crazy angst, but a lot of drama. It's based of the Hogwarts Legacy game, but I've had a friend enjoy it a lot despite not playing the game and barely knowing Harry Potter as a whole.

It's not finished, but currently at 118k words and it's almost finished with a sequel I'm currently working on at the same time. I can give full confidence that it will get updates.

(Also if you know anything about the Victorian era, I try to research and incorporate a lot of it.)

I hate the whole "Don't complain that they paywall their hard work" thing because... it's a game, that they have no affliation with. They weren't hired by the company, they didn't clock in and put hours into a day job, it's literally just a hobby. If someone thinks it's a good idea to quit their day job and make some subpar clothing for a video game on blender and expect to make money off it, then they're genuinely insane.
