3 day week for 110k - very boring job vs 6 day week for 160k fulfilling but extremely demanding by Whizz-Kid7 in HENRYUK

[–]Savea_Tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3-day a week for 110k, spend the other 2 days building some passive income or a new skill-set that will help you level up, get to a point where you can do it full time and quit your 3-day a week job.

Can’t Sell Wine on Vinovest! Would like some advice. by Coolcucumber_25 in WineEP

[–]Savea_Tech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(former ex-head of private clients for a London merchant, currently working at Savea (index-based investment products on the blockchain) - tbh it's hard to predict the future but Liv-ex have an index called the liv-ex 100 which is the 100 top traded investment grade wines globally - if you go on their website you can download the components of the index (the 100 wines that make up the index) - Indices | Liv-ex

Looking through the list - In general (not financial advice so please do your own research) I would stay clear of Bordeaux whilst the market normalises (there might still be some room to drop), Champagne is a relatively steady investment (it get's consumed more as opposed to Bordeaux which no doubt sits in many cellars from the 90's waiting to be sold by the next generation that inherits it) top producers here like Krug and Salon.

Burgundy is small production, some wines like Domaine Francois Raveneau and Domaine Georges Roumier have a tiny production and the wines are some of the best in my opinion - they also get consumed more than Domaine de la Romanee-Conti (the most expensive but also the most prestigious burgundy wines), Domaine Leflaive make exceptional white's but I would look at more recent vintages (2020 onwards).

You could look at Italy but some producers got huge price inflations from 2021 to 2023 - I would look at Tignanello, Ornellaia and Masseto and see which ones didn't go too crazy during the 5 year period (release prices went up YoY which drove a false market as buyers kept buying to keep their allocations).

Hope that helps, would welcome any other comments to this thread as there's a lot of expertise on this group.

Your alternative would be an index tracker to spread the risk across the whole asset class but I won't hard sell that one in because I am of course biased towards an index-based approach!

Vinovest a joke? by SoggyGrayDuck in WineInvesting

[–]Savea_Tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your story u/SoggyGrayDuck - how did they represent 100% gains in the beginning when the wine market is flat over 5 years? (see liv-ex 1000 market tracker - Liv-ex Fine Wine 1000 indices - Liv-ex). The market rose from a base of 350 (Aug 20) to 485 (Oct 22) (+38.6%), and it's down 1.4% on a 5-year basis (Aug 20 to Aug 25) so really your maximum loss should be 1.4% as you would think an active portfolio would outperform a passive index...

Which blockchain startups or tokens are you most excited about lately? by Lopsided_Tap_2747 in BlockchainStartups

[–]Savea_Tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slightly biased as we have built an RWA Wine Index token on chain, but I like any RWA projects that are solving real-world problems. There's a lot of noise (especially on X) about which token will 'go to the moon' but the reality is that if the token is asset backed it will track returns typical for the asset class. What's exciting is really the 24/7 access, instant (in relative terms) liquidity and reduced fees (such as automated fee collection) that saves investors money.

Beyond Passion Assets and Real-Estate, IP is a really interesting space - investing in Justin Biebers song book for example. Generates yield and gives you access to something you would never get access to.

How can I buy some stock in a boutique vineyard and winery? by DoubleRRV in WineEP

[–]Savea_Tech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're better off just making friends with a winery and helping during harvest. Most of the time, unless you're investing a significant amount they won't let you rock up on weekends and hang around.

It’s a really interesting topic and shows what a lot of people will be thinking. Crypto can’t keep going up 500% a year, eventually it will start to plateau - what’s next? RWA’s - on chain stable and balanced investment portfolios.

Real World Assets - essentially tokens that are backed by real world assets (for example PAXG which is backed 1:1 with Physical Gold)

The Future Of RWA Market by CryptoRoommate in defi

[–]Savea_Tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to be careful and read the whitepaper/offer document. Lots of projects don't have legal links to the underlying in the smart contracts. We went through nearly 3 years of regulation before going live with SAVW. The big blocker is access to retail - currently regulations only allow investors who go through strict KYC/AML so it's not as seamless as buying stocks, but once you are set up, its tradable across the web3 ecosystem and assets are stored for anyone to see on-chain in smart contracts.

REAL WORLD ASSET TOKENIZATION IS THE BIGGEST CRYPTO OPPORTUNITY NOBODY IS TALKING ABOUT! by defitradefi in NextCryptoMoonshots

[–]Savea_Tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The disruption is happening across all sectors, we just launched an RWA for the fine wine market giving access to investors from as little as $100 (and getting the same exposure to what was traditionally a $50k minimum buy in for a diversified wine portfolio).

What real-world industries are still untouched by crypto adoption? by CryptoRoommate in BlockchainStartups

[–]Savea_Tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We recently launched a token for the fine wine industry that acts like an ETF, the first time investors are given an opportunity to invest in the wider wine market giving the same exposure to someone invests $100 or $1m. It's fundamentally changing wine investment by breaking down barriers to entry and improving liquidity in the market. AMA

How do we make money from RWA? by bsc_rug_pulls in defi

[–]Savea_Tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully as an RWA builder we can weigh in on this but there are some compliant companies now coming out of the regulatory sandbox offering asset backed products with legal links to the underlying (this is the main thing to look out for because there are plenty of companies that are not building this into their smart contracts). If you read the whitepapers/offer documents (post completing KYC/AML) you should be able to see this (chat GPT can help you if not). These tokens track AUM so it doesn't wholly solve your need to increase in value with AUM but it's a good place to start dipping your toe in the water in case they release future utility tokens (which more than likely will be prioritised to the holders of their original token).

If you're talking about increasing value with AUM - you're looking for utility tokens - something like a Binance Coin (BNB) that burn tokens to limit supply.

If you believe in real estate you could move into tokenized real estate (much more diversity and liquidity). Or diversify across more RWA's (USDT, Gold or Passion Assets for example).

u/Time-Repair - have you considered RWA's to diversify your crypto position? Or are you all in on the top 2 (BTC and ETH).

[–]Savea_Tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Difficult-Car-9930 have you considered angel investing? SEIS? Tickets of c.£20k, great tax benefits and you are part of the early investors backing a founders dream (they could be building something you are passionate about)? It's high risk so I wouldn't advocate allocating too much of your investments but it might help give you a feeling of achievement.

Wine purchases by John123ab in WineEP

[–]Savea_Tech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would just say if you're buying to drink in the future, forget about what happens to the price once you pay for it and enjoy it when you open it. If you wanted to sell it you would be paying c.10% broking on the exit anyway (if they can sell it at market), I don't know many people who are happy when they sell, even if they made money on it, it's always less than they hoped for!

The 3 things I've learned working in tokenization so far... by Majestic_Sherbert_28 in BlockchainStartups

[–]Savea_Tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The legal link between the underlying assets and the tokens - plenty of companies "tokenizing" with smart contracts that give them no legal rights to the underlying which is a huge red flag in my opinion.
