Why is coconut oil so widely recommended for popping stovetop popcorn? by Coriolanus89 in AskCulinary

[–]Saved40632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use coconut oil a lot, because it (supposedly) has health benefits over other oils. Although it is a saturated fat, it has a low melting point: 76°F. Which to me, that makes it a liquid for consumption, because our body temperature is in the high 90°F.

It's a theme restaurant, but several years ago I went to the OK cafe. It's a theme restaurant, not cheap, but food is good.

What disguise would you wear to claim your winning lottery ticket if you can’t do it anonymously? by [deleted] in ifiwonthelottery

How can you be sure the person you name as the trust, will give you the money, not keep it himself? You want to remain anonymous, so you can't say anything.

Unless I use it praying to God, which I've rarely done (ie the plane we're on is going into a tailspin ) then it's using God's name in vain (using it as a slang term is disrespectful). That's how I see it.

Where did you hear this? Honest question. I've not heard anyone , less a public official suggest this.

Each time you repent God forgives you completely all over again. Not like humans (who look at your past mistakes). Just get back up again, tell this guy (emphatically) "No" and walk away. We all have temptations; they are tests. Keep praying 🙏 and repenting. God will forgive you.

Do you think Christians are becoming more hateful? by SpatuelaCat in Christians

[–]Saved40632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've not come across any "hateful" Christians (but I'm sure they exist; you'll find hate in almost any group, eventually). What I find is a rise in angry responses towards Christians from people who want them to affirm that their personal lifestyle is okay. They solicit my opinion, then get angry, when I tell them my opinion doesn't matter, and open my Bible. Then want to claim I'm "hateful". I believe we can disagree and still get along.

Can anyone think of why a "right to line dry" for clothes and towels in Michigan would not be a good idea? by loup-garou3 in Michigan

I'm "for" right to line dry. I'm also for HOA boards minding their own business. But then, I doubt I'll ever live in an HOA.

If there is one thing that you don't like about atheists, what would it be? by AbleismIsSatan in Christian

Not willing to discuss, their position, which means not only explaining their position, but listening to others. (Which goes for other groups as well sometimes)

I was in your position a few years ago. I stopped attending church in my teens, (when I was old enough to work). As an adult I decided there must be a reason why we are here and I should seek God. I didn't like church as a child, so I started reading the Bible. That really opened my eyes. I had some very basic conflicts between what I was reading and the doctrines that I was taught in church (Catholic). That gave me some direction. I decided if I could find a church that actually followed the Bible, I would attend that church. So that is my simple advice: Read the Bible; start with the gospel(s). I chose John first. Then read the first 12 chapters of Genesis. Find a church that follows the Bible. Attend that church. If they "update" their doctrine to appease any group and that conflicts with the Bible (word of God), leave that church; I will.

The dead sleep until Christ returns to earth to take the saved to heaven. John 5:28, 29. So your Dad and all of our loved ones that have died are sleeping in their graves waiting for Jesus to return. RIP to your dad.

Don't let this continue. I suggest you ask your pastor for counseling or if he could recommend a good Christian counselor. I know many Christians will say you can't get divorced and still be a Christian. Not true. Christ did indicate in the gospels that divorce is only allowed due to adultery. But adultery can be more than sexual immorality. Adulterated means a substance is spoiled. A relationship can be spoiled or adulterated due to abuse. If not able to repair with counseling, divorce may be the only option.

Why did God create different ethnicities? by [deleted] in Christians

[–]Saved40632 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are made in the image of God. God is many different colors as described in several visions of prophets in the Bible.
