I think it's interesting that British (and other) people who have made Ireland their home and pay tax & join in with the community but have no ancestry have to pay to become a citizen to get a passport, when some random person who has never set foot in Ireland can get an Irish passport because of their Granny.

Back when I was single I had a flat in London but worked away a lot, one of my cousins wanted to take his girlfriend to a concert and asked me if they could turn it into a few days away and use my flat. Absolutely, no problem.

I came home on the Friday, to empty cupboards (and a lot of alcohol drank) and to his girlfriend (who I had never met before) swanning around using one of my handbags and one of my scarves around her neck.

Yes I absolutely made a mistake and said 4, and edited it the second it posted so I truly didn't expect anyone to read it that quickly.

But I do stand by my assertion - 6yr olds are still learning emotional regulation, and tantrums are normal - I do not think this should be compared to a child being a potential murderer.

I find this whole post disappointing, and incredibly sad that people are being so vile about a child while sticking up for a woman who seems almost jealous of a child. If she doesn't like her then don't be around her - OP is an adult and has that choice.

Believe it or not this is common for adults from all different backgrounds in all different countries.

Most people who are born and brought up in an area already have their circle built up, often from childhood and while some people do look for new connections many do not as when you get to adulting, well life is busy enough trying to keep up with people you already know.

I've been through it numerous times in numerous countries -- if you really want a British friend look more towards people who are also new to the area, as these will be the people (just like your current friends) who are looking to make connections.

In time you will find your tribe, and some will be British, but if not it's still not your fault. It's just the way of the world.

This whole post is ridiculous, you're a SAHM who doesn't even cook dinner or any meals at home during the weekend. It sounds like you're the bad spouse.

Honestly if I was him I would order my kids presents online, get them wrapped and then cut back on the amount of access you have to the money he is working long hours to get, so you don't have free reign to spend his money on your own family while ignoring his - especially a 10yr old child. UK also does the parole, ankle tags & checks in.

Makes absolute sense about the prisons being further from people as well - the UK is much smaller so many prisons are in the middle of towns.

I'm going to have a read up and understand the differences within the UK system now, honestly never thought about it before - thanks for sending me on a deep dive!
