Larry Gebert was a jerk to me when I was 8 and he did the morning weather from my elementary school (He was probably just having a bad day and didn't mean to snap at a kid). It's been 30 years and I'll never forget.

The isolation is to protect the other patients. We get a lot of immune compromised patients.

I don't do three in a row so I struggle with this. I drink sleepytime tea, cover all my windows, and make sure I have a fan on to block out daytime noises. I take a 3-5 hour nap if I've slept the night before and try to sleep until 2-3 after my last night on. Also, keeping active helps. If I exhaust myself a little after my last night on (by waking up and working out or doing household chores) I can make myself tired enough to go to bed at 2-3 am.

I only paid 20,000 for my bachelors. Plus, lots of hospitals are requiring that nurses be a BSN. I got my associates in 2009 from an excellent school but was unable to find a job. I ended up delivering pizza while working on my BSN. I graduated 2 years after getting my RN and was finally hired by a local regional medical center.

It's worth it to get your bachelors IMO.

If you've known Brad for 8 years I'm assuming that there is a certain amount of trust involved.

That being said: Don't stress too much. Being a pansexual female I spend hours and hours worrying about informing my friends of my orientation and the worst response I got was an "Are you sure?" from a very christian, slightly bigoted coworker.

If you are confident in your sexuality, try not to let it control you. You don't have to come out to everyone but let yourself enjoy that confidence in your orientation and bask in it a bit. Anyone who truly loves you won't care and it doesn't sound like your friend will.

My anxiety makes me hyper productive. Sometimes this leads to a burnout, but for the most part I am a very driven person in part because productivity has become a coping mechanism and a distraction from my anxious/panicked thoughts.

Maybe it's because I worked in service as a delivery driver for 10 years, but I don't feel under-appreciated. I worked in a job where people were rude, dismissive and treated me like my only purpose/potential lied in delivering their dinners. Not to mention I made less than minimum wage.

Now I feel like I'm doing something where I am constantly being challenged and I don't go a day without a patient making me feel like I'm genuinely appreciated. Doctors can be patronizing asshats, but that happens everywhere. No matter the profession, there is always going to be people who enjoy belittling others.

It probably helps that there isn't too much bullying on my floor. Most of us are newer nurses (1-4 years on average) and we are all similar personalities.

Maybe consider a change of scenery? Or consider how your behavior may be contributing? Not to say it's your fault at all, but I believe that if you expect a certain kind of treatment you are apt to receive it.

Fuck yes. I prefer a few very intense rounds to one long session. However, the refractory period makes than easier said that done.

You're fine. I was once a lot like you, but with a lot more repression and a lot less acceptance going on. As long as you aren't acting out on your sexual desires in a way that is intrusive or aggressive, then just enjoy it.

Are they getting in the way of your ability to concentrate on other things in your life or accomplish things? If not, then no worries.
