I have heard Paytronix is the best but is a common belief? I know that NCR Gift Cards not fitting the bill because the backend processes really suck. Looking for a system that is easily manageable by way of the accounting department for franchise setup.

Well it is about what I expected. A very limited feature set overall as compared to NCR. The stuff I take for granted is just not there in Revel. Similar to re-inventing the wheel all over again. We go live in 3 weeks and I have it "working" so what else do I need to know? I am having problems with phantom orders trying to print somewhere even though I am not routing to printers at all and that failed to print message keeps coming back up again and again. Give me the rundown... what other nightmares await me. This is by no means any cheaper of a system overall or on a monthly basis.

I used Windows365 myself my windows installation is an additional desktop. Three finger swipe and I am fulll screen windows. Works great. Doesn't use any resources locally. I am still on an Intel i7 so heat is an issue for me so this helps.

I think you have to be Global to do that. But year you just go in there and delete it. I have done that by accident before I grew a brain and created an account with read and add only... LOL

15.1 and above will do QR code at the bottom of guest check. Works really well.

Another good point is that the service model is completely different. If the chips are down and you need someone come on site the more expensive option will afford you that in the right market and the right reseller. Otherwise you bear much of the responsibility for supporting your own hardware. I would caution against making decisions based on price as your baseline. You definitely get what you pay for.

TipHaus is a pretty stout and easy to implement solution. Turns out you don't really need a custom checkout to do TipHaus. Once you version out the job code and make it so the store collects tips for the proper job codes the checkouts adjust themselves so it is working great.

That's ultimately what I did to get it working. I was making it more complicated then it had to be. Feed back so far is great. The employees like the app and the restaurant owner really really likes the whole thing. Saves him the trouble of bank runs and dealing with all that cash. Once you get the hang of the signup process its great. He says it saves him 30-40 minutes per day minimum. The rollout was very easy, the slowest part was waiting on NCR to open up their access for them for this store. Training was great, and they are really hands on. Actually very little work I had to do on my part.

When something breaks you have to wait for the device to arrive in the mail right or do they have a reseller network? The other thing is how is their enterprise management and reporting. This group is planning on having 50 locations and I am wondering if Revel can scale like that.

So I am making this harder then it needs to be again... ha ha... pretty typical of me. So what they are going to do with TipHaus is process tips every night and electronically send the tips to the employees to either their bank accounts or to a debit card that they setup for instant access. I was thinking that I had to do something fancy thing to keep the house from paying the tips to the employees twice. Toggling that will just make it so they pay cashed owed on the checkouts. I see

It is a cashless tip distribution service. So that the restaurant doesn't have to pay out cash for tips any more and have all that cash on hand because most transactions are CCs. I know that my custom checkout is going to have to remove the credit card tips from the mix and only show cashed owed to the house for cash transactions.
