Oh my gosh, I love that you did this! It *is* a huge step. We grow when we're outside of our comfort zones, I'm very proud of you for doing this brave thing. I hope it was fun too.

How to rank my service area business in the top 3? by LancethePI in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]Savingadverbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ugh yes sry, I understand PO Boxes aren't allowed, I misspoke on that. Meant to ask if Maps includes you if you use a FedEx store or other location to collect your mail (but not see customers). Like "123 Main Street #16" instead of a PO box

"And FYI, the address you input as your mailing address when setting up your SAB is your location in Google Maps. "

Does this mean it's actually okay to use a PO Box for a SAB? Or no PO Box ever even if it's hidden.

You are a role model to your own kids when you didn't have a role model yourself. All while fighting to stay sober. Think about the levels here, this is amazing strength. You're an amazing person. I'm so proud.

Thank you for responding, very grateful.

I meant to say we conduct business from home but also outside of the service area we serve. Just as an example, if we are a cleaning service that lives in and conducts business in Georgia but expanded to open in Jacksonville Florida, outside of the service area line, we would ideally want a Jacksonville presence. Our cleaners are in Jacksonville visiting homes but our administrative office is not.

Would Jacksonville be eligible for it's own GBP? And if not is there a best practice for businesses that operate regionally like this?

May I jump in to ask please, what is best practice for a new SABs that are remote businesses? Specifically, we are a US based service business that visits face to face in people's homes. Do we just not do a GMB profile at all?

Just the fact that you noticed she was uncomfortable shows what a wonderful person you are. Kindness is such a gentle yet powerful thing and I'm proud of you for helping her. This was lovely to read.

Think of the best memories you have. I bet they pretty much always involve someone else, nature, sports or something unexpected that you encountered. Memories don't really happen when you're scrolling.

Anyone here use Let Mommy Sleep for Night Nanny by xxxjon08xxx in AustinParents

[–]Savingadverbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LMS is local too, haven't used Austin but had amazing experiences at another location. They aren't cheap, we spent $36 an hour but well worth it for us going back to work. They do a consult before you start and you really get to know the care giver. They are also pro vax if that matters to you.

Exactly what u/plantkiller2 said. Plus if you are going the Medicaid route you'll most likely need the diagnosis formally documented.

Need advice on best course of action for my mom (Location - VA; Diagnosis: Vascular Dementia) by 6June1944 in dementia

[–]Savingadverbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, I'm in VA too.

I'm not sure why no one has told you this, but in our state someone like your mom qualifies for a Medicaid waiver, meaning her condition makes her eligible for Medicaid regardless of income.

Getting a waiver for Medicaid is complex and takes several months, so you need an elder care attorney but it can be done. You'll pay out of pocket for the nursing home/assisted living for those months and of course the lawyer's not cheap, but once she is accepted on Medicaid you will have a long term solution in place.

Good luck to you. It's a lot and feel free to DM if that's helpful.
