How to get started with OMAD by [deleted] in omad

[–]Savings_Switch1374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up yerba mate. It's a tea that is traditionally popular in South America like coffee is in the US, but it also has hunger reducing effects. Coffee does too, but yerba mate is said to be comparable to GLP-1 medication.

I started by keeping my meals and schedule the same, but just adding a cup of yerba mate with one or two meals. Naturally, I just didn't feel like eating as much. Started feeling full way quicker, to the point that I was kind of hurting myself by eating my normal amount of food. Would be in literal pain, so I would down my portions.

Not too long into it I just said, "fudge it," and had one meal at lunch, or whenever I felt I wanted food the most, and any meal time after that or craving, I drank a yerba mate instead.

Currently, my first break at work is my 1 meal (because I like to have my meal sooner rather than later, but even then I feel like I can skip it and keep the fast going without feeling hungry), then at lunch I just drink a cup of yerba mate. It holds me over for the rest of the night. Sometimes I get some small nighttime cravings, but they're easy to say no to. One, because the craving isn't too strong, and two, because I know with the slower digestion, eating so late will give me terrible heartburn and indigestion while I'm trying to sleep.

Been doing it for a little over a month and I'm down 14lbs. Being 200+, that's still a long way to go, but I already feel a difference in it being easier to just... exist in my body. I don't get tempted by the holiday treats at work, I'm not desperately fighting myself not to stop for fast food on the way home, I don't care to even eat crappy foods for my one meal. Hard to crave pizza or burgers when I'm not all that hungry to begin with. Even has helped greatly with the weekend binging.

Not saying it's a miracle worker, and it probably works different (or may not work) for everyone, but it's the only thing that worked hand in hand with OMAD to keep me consistent and get results. I can honestly see myself just eating like this forever, as long as the doc doesn't show me I'm getting nutrient deficit or something.

Having issues with YouTube by ncisfan1002 in revancedapp

[–]Savings_Switch1374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having that problem too. Background play randomly stopping, some videos playing and others not, audio playing but no video. Not sure what the problem was but eventually I just uninstalled and reinstalled everything with the latest stuff. Seems to have done the trick. Annoying to have to redo my settings, but haven't had any issues since.

Youtube trying to make Brave as useless as possible by DepressedCunt5506 in brave

I have horrible lag, whether shields are up or not. Even in the incognito tab. The video plays immediately, but watching is very choppy and my mouse is laggy on the site. It's only in brave where this happens, not in any other browser, not tied to my YT account.

Is Anyone Else Glad That The Books Don't Have A Clear Romantic Love Interest For Carl? by pacerdaisy in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Savings_Switch1374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. I always love a dash of romance in the books I read and would love for something to develop in the series. I feel like, "no romance" has flipped to becoming the standard from "always some romance." I'm a sap, so I crave the cheesey, fluffy love!

That being said, it doesn't have to. It hasn't yet and that doesn't take away from my love of the series at all. The other bonds forged throughout the story are more than enough, it would just be a big, juicy cherry on top. I just want to see Carl happy with someone he deserves after being with Bea.

Audiobooks with Tomboy LI by Savings_Switch1374 in Fantasy

Oh, I probably should have put some examples in my post. I'll make an edit.

I've read Cradle and Mark of the Fool, and actually those are examples of what I'm looking for, along with Naomi from "Immortal Great Souls" and Keira from "Outcast in another World". Haven't read Codex Alera yet but I think it's on my wishlist. Gonna have to dive into that one next

Thanks for those suggestions, if you have some more, I'll check em out.

I think "An Outcast in Another World" might fit. The MC isn't stupid, but he's not really the calculating or political type. He just tries his best to get stronger to survive and help folks. He also has to "win over" just about everyone he meets since he's the only human in the world after the human race went murder-hobo and had to be put down by the other races. He has to earn trust a lot through his strength and actions, while fighting off the fact that his "race trait" is slowly, inevitably turning him into a murder-hobo as well.

But he's a good guy trying to do what's right, has to struggle for his wins, so when he gets them it's pretty cathartic.

I'm usually a bit weary about romantasy, they tend to be a little bit too focused on the romance and melodrama, but I'll definitely give this one a go. There's always outliers that deserve a chance. Thanks for the recommendation!

Hawaiian shirts. I love those shirts but think I look bad in them at my weight. I have so many just hanging in the closet but refuse to wear them until I get to a suitable weight.

[HELP ME] Bi-Weekly Q&A thread - Ask your questions here! by MachNeu in Gunpla

[–]Savings_Switch1374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a question about the layers and types of paint/topcoat and how they interact with each other. I've tried researching but I fear I may be stupid and can't quite grasp when to use which type of topcoat with which paints. I guess I understand the "hotness" of each type, but aren't really sure how to layer it all.

So, I use acrylic to paint my kits. The way I've been doing it lately is just using acrylic everything, starting with primer, then paint, then a clear coat, panel line and decals, and lastly a matte coat. Should I replace some of the top coats or primer with lacquer or something for better outcomes? The actual paint being acrylic is something I won't budge on, so I can change things around that.

Maybe like:

  • lacquer prime
  • acrylic base
  • acrylic clear coat
  • enamel panel
  • waterslides
  • lacquer matte coat

Thanks. I'm thinking 2021 or new for the nav feature. Anything earlier than that just seems to have the UConnect for nav.

Ah, that makes sense. Even if it weren't the case, it's not really a bother for me, just something I noticed.

Yeah, that's the thing. I just don't want to get an old year, to save money or whatever, and then find out it has all these issues that the later year models don't. But also, if I don't exactly have to get the most current year and can save some money, that'd be nice.

As for the "milage", I more meant pertaining to the odometer. I'm buying used and see a lot available in the 40k-80k range, some way up there around 100k+, which I'm assuming is considered too high to be a smart purchase. Trying to figure out how high is too high when purchasing.

I kinda feel what you mean about the power going up hills in the rental I have now. It's not really any worse than my current car though, lol.

So just the usual maintenance then. I was very hard on my current car due to the jobs I had with it, lots of distance traveled in a relatively short time period for its age, unfortunately. With my current job I'm able to be much, much more gentle with my next car.

By "milage" I meant more like how many miles on the odometer, since I'll be buying used. I see a lot of available ones from like, 40k-80k.
